I really want to start McAndrew at R2 but he is one bad game away to either sharing ruck duties or ROB back in solo

And he starts off the season with games against Cameron and English in the first three weeks, who will likely kill him around the ground (not that ROB would do any better). Could easily be made the scapegoat.

I don't know for sure what answer is best – I've had McAndrew at R2 for weeks, but have pivoted back to a two-premo ruck setup today (mainly because I had $700k and couldn't decide on a mid I actually wanted lol).

Been wanting to start English & McAndrew at R2, but the closer it gets to lockout I think I’m more likely to just lock in Gawn (no bye and low ownership) & English with McAndrew at flex and save myself the absolute headache if worst case scenario happens and I’m burning 3+ trades to get a decent R2 in.

Interesting, McAndrew R2- get the attraction, but haven't considered at all, seems too risky.
Would rather FLEX - if he holds and goes OK he suppresses a rookie score, if not, only minor incremental harm of not having a 23rd to pull in (assuming R3 non-playing)
RUC-eligible, cheap seems ideal for FLEX.
Get that he frees up a lot of money, fair enough.
Thought more about a midpriced RUC with a little upside potential at R2 - easier to potentially get to a fallen fella in a single trade down the track.

Pittinet only thing to note is he kicked three goals, from memory, snowball's chance in hell he does that on the regular. But still should hold / increase value, not many you can say that about.

Also, let's say McAndrew absolutely kills it, but one of the premo rucks doesn't.

You can downgrade that premium ruck to any player you want via flex (moving McAndrew to R2) and make a heap of cash for other upgrades in the process.

The extra trades you'd need to burn through if you have McAndrew at R2 amd he fails just simply isn't worth it IMO.

Lack of a viable cash making R3 has LMc at R3 for me. Mitigates all risk of underperformance. He'll be onfield covering for 2 of the first 4 weeks and then can reassess the ruck situation.

First year rookie RUCK ..... McAndrew will find it hard with the crash & bash of Rucking in the AFL to backup each week

ROB just signed a 3 year Contract ....is in the Leadership Group .....does anyone think he'll be languishing in the SANFL for the majority of the season .....or will McAndrew get managed to get him through his first season of AFL

As a Crows supporters, I haven't given any thought to him as an R2 .....always been a Flex player to cover my Rookie heavy DEF

But what do I know ....I also avoided the Braydon Preuss ride

If going McAndrew, ideal scenario for me would be to get gawn around r7 before he plays Richmond

Worst case if McAndrew gets dropped early rounds, im holding enough cash to go an underperforming premo (probs LDU) to a ruck after r4.
