Well...it can't go any worse than this years death ride can it?

The Hawthorn trade had the allure of a potential top 10 pick. Which we would have if we picked Carlton's picks over theirs. It was a double death ride which (shocked to be sitting here) saw WC walk away as the loser.

The first pick of the second round is currently 24 and I don't think FA compo will push that out further. St Kilda being historically mediocre will be a middle 6 side again next year, so realistically their second round pick will be in the late 20s or 30s. If they surprise everyone and actually finish top 4 we'll get pick 40. As far as death rides go it's not really worth being too excited or worried about.

It would be hilarious to watch them add $5m worth of players and then finish 14th but even then the payoff isn't game changing for us.

This isn’t how to do it mate, you’re meant to list off your 35 A graders, go to the Hawks board, do some research and come back please.

Adelaide--- Slide slightly as draw will be harder and no improvements to side
Brisbane--- Up the top again, have improved
Collingwood---- Slide slightly as draw will be harder and no improvements to side
Fremantle--- Slight improvement to list and young so doubtful to slide
Geelong----Improved list so will be up the top again
Gold Coast---- Depending how their trades go they should improve and very young too
GWS---- Around the same you'd expect, could slide
Hawthorn--- If they don't bring anyone in you'd expect them to slide potentially
Sydney----Had a lot of injuries this year, expect them to improve especially if they get Curnow
Bulldogs----- Expect them to be around the same mark, no major improvements.


So who do St Kilda knock out of this 10 to get into the 8? Are the players they have brought in going to lift them enough to leapfrog 3 of these teams?

They might make the 8 but i wouldn't hold my breath.

Very happy with this death ride. I don’t see a lot of cohesion in this St Kilda squad and think things could fall apart quickly.

They should be better than: us, Tigers, North, Essendon and Carlton. Has us looking at pick 24-29 in a strong draft next year. Could be an excellent pick or capital to match a bid on Shanahan or Harper Banfield?

This trade should work out better than the Hawks future last time out
