Pogacar loses to Dorian Godon. obviously only a short 3.2km prologue.

If he won, he would have been a genuine chance to win every stage.
will lay down the law tomorrow with there being a category 1 climb.

Nah, stage 2 isn't hard enough for him. Novak, Mayrhofer, Albert Withen Phillipson and Schmid the favourites for that

Pogacar wins in a sprint, didn't dominate the climb like I thought he would, Lenny Martinez having a good season.
Remember Vingegaard got criticized for not dropping Lenny at Paris-Nice?

Pogi looks like he is getting miles in the legs, got to remember he hasn't done long climbs like these all year.
still I expected him to win solo.

Pog puts on some extra muscle for the Spring Classics. He drops it again before the TdF, but it's only been a couple of weeks since Roubaix and Flanders, so he's probably still carrying a bit of excess weight.

Don't get me wrong, he's still probably the best climber in the world, even with the extra muscle as baggage - but he's not in peak Pog climbing form right now.

Well... Pogačar won again outsprinted Godon, looks it doesn't matter what happens he just wins.
3x DNF including Schmid, crash?

1st (Il Lombardia)
1st (Strade Bianche)
1st (Milano-San Remo)
1st (Ronde van Vlaanderen)
2nd (Paris-Roubaix)
1st (Liege-Bastogne-Liege)
6th (Tour de Romandie prologue)
1st (Tour de Romandie stage 1)
1st (Tour de Romandie stage 2)

It's conceivable given his current age and entering his physical peak, he will barely lose a race in next 3 years. People have said this would destroy the sport, I disagree. If people can't recognise what they are witnessing, that's their loss.

But as far as the race goes, Giannetti and the race organiser have a long friendship and has known for a few years Pog would be attending. I think given his race program he is riding the climbs like a training ride and honouring an agreement his boss made.
