For only cap space? I very much doubt it but wait and see how that calf goes next season.
Depending on their year, BWilliams and Maric go into 2026 as trade bait at season's end IMO.

I can see BW being for sale if we land another ruck.
If we land someone like Sweet or Briggs on a 3 year deal then BW will be traded.
A Reid & CDT are 3 years away from competing full time.
Maric is a solid role player and depth at worst, would be trading/delisting several before Maric.
Bwilliams goes in as a target for a 2026 band 1 compensation. a good season and some victorian club will go hard with these new ruck rules.
Going by his Insta. Jed Walter seems to spending a bit of time in WA during this period. Be interesting to see if Mini had a meeting with him.
Had a look over on the Gold Coast board and there are a number of posters that haven't got him in their best 23 for 2026.
It'll be an interesting season to see how it all plays out with him.

I’d be keen on adding Walter, Davies and Zane Duursma putting our 1R and 2R on the table.
Rogers and Lombard are also going to struggle to get a game.

According to footywire there are 19 players out of contract at the end of this year, 12 OOC the following year.
Assuming we keep our recently recruited rookies i think we may have up to 9 list changes through delisting/retirements at the end of 2026. Can only see 3 at the end of 2027 which will probably change in 12 months.

Walter is interesting case, heaps of talent but for whatever reason GC/Dimmer prefer others in their preferred set up.
If he continues his improvement he would be a JK type replacement with his forward pressure/speed and leading up the ground.
If he can improve his consistency he will be an absolute weapon.
Rogers would also a be a very good pick up, we need that forward half pressure player who goes hard at it, clean, quick and has a very high footy IQ to turn possessions into goals.
I would give up a 1st round pick for those 2 players.
2027 1st rounder would be ideal as we need another elite mid in 2026.
May need to add a little more but well worth it IMO.

Delist Flynn and rookie him. Let Bailey walk for what’s likely to be a band 4/5 offer which based on this year is pick 37.
If we can massage a situation where he gets a band 3 offer (pick 20) that would be ideal, but we won’t.

I’d reserve our 2027 1R for Axel Walsh. Cochrane and Walker are gone so it’s Arki Butler then AVD.
If ladder positions hold I’d offer North pick 1, 19 and Jack Williams for pick 3 and Zane Duursma.
Then offer GCS pick 3 and our 2028 2R for Walter, Rogers and Davies.
We've seen it play out since Nic Nat stopped being able to move.

Comprehensive bit of work there.
While I agree with many of your thoughts, I will offer mine.
The ruck situation is the glaring hole we haven't been able to fill and what happens here will determine list strategy aroun our rucks.
Trading in 1 of Sweet or Briggs in 2026 will give us a competitive ruck for 3 years until A Reid/CDT develop to take their place as 1st/2nd rucks.
This will allow BW to be traded, Barnett delisted/traded for a packet of Twisties.
Leaving Flynn as cover/depth, JW as a FWD/RUCK who is more than capable in that role or depth.
I feel 1 of the new rookies in Dev/McRae/Schoenberg will cement a contract going forward and the other 2 will most likely be WAFL players.
Hall at this stage of his career is in front of them 2 and deserves another contract.

If Brockman continues is unimpressive year McRae or Schoenberg may be retained as depth for his spot.
Trade in J Walter/J Rogers from GC for 2027 1st round pick(7) which I am rating Walter as a late 1st round(18) and Rogers(27) and GC send a 3rd round back to WC.
Eliminates the need to draft a KPF anytime soon and replaces Brockman with Rogers etc.
WC list needs in 2026 are 1 more elite mid with our 1st round pick.
2 top end KPD's so they are ready in 2030 for a run at a premiership.
G Kenh come in as an elite running HB/NGA.
H Banfield come in as a FS balance mid.
L McGlade as a SF/NGA.

We are going to lose Yeo/Kelly/Owies as senior players.

If A Reid and CDT progress enough there's no need for A Walsh.
There is a decent group of elite mids like Butler/AVD/K Edwards in that 1st round.

Go and have a look at him in the flesh smash the top agers in Colts and/or PSA this year. Every team in the comp needs him.
We have 1 A grade tall and 2 potential ones, we could most certainly use Axel.
Is there any vision of Axel playing colts?
Going a bit early here! How about we get a few games into the season to see how the players respond - like half way through the season before making calls to cut this player or trade off this one, etc. How about giving the players a fair go at it before you announce the death sentence!

He only played the one Colts game last year as a double under ager. There are some snippets online. noobermensch as always has put together his champs game vs Vic Metro which is a better watch.
Will be well worth getting down to East Perth colts and Trinity College PSA games this year.
