I don't think people suddenly suddenly wanting to keep Sparrow. Most post I've seen are saying they probably think he'll stay. danster168 said it would be disastrous but he's always backed him. I think what has changed is that he has looked better under King, and we've already lost a lot of experience in the midfield with Trac and Oliver gone. It's not just the fact he's played 1 decent game and we're all fan boys, just being realistic that it's probably better to keep in for the time being.

I agree with that, Viney would be much more useful than Laurie atm. Having said that hopefully we could see another younger player coming through soon to fill that spot.
I think when Viney returns, we'll all really appreciate that he's back. I'm sure King will find a way to bring him in and move the magnets around. In games like Essendon and Freo, Viney would've helped set some standards defensively which was totally lacking in those 2 games. As well as the first half of the Carlton game.

Perhaps you're right, not sure what happened in those games. The Essendon game was weird, definitely lacking effort in the middle. Having said that we still had Sparrow and Steel in there setting standards. As I said happy to have him in as an extra midfield rotation over having Laurie in the team. But long term we need to be looking towards youth.

Yeah whatever people think of Viney he's still a leader of the club. You see him in the rooms talking to the young guys all the time. I'm sure that leadership would be valuable in the field.

We should pick at the carcass of Essendon again and bring in some more Hibberd/Melksham type bargains who will flourish under King.
Carlton are another club that seems to have people want to leave. Any useful fishing to be done there?

Who did you have in mind, Ray?

I am worried that their list may already been too Carltoned in order for us to do anything.

Melbourne are also a club that has players wanting out at the end of every season. One to watch.

I see he kicked 2 goals in the North VFL game today. Gives him 8 goals in 4 games. A 185 cm mid that can hit the scoreboard. 19 years old. Built like a bull. He will suit our game style.

Get him in.
slow left footer with poor skills. we already have enough of that type. Surely with King's game style we should be getting guys with speed.

No idea on contract but Seth Campbell is a guy we should throw a big offer at. He's perfect for what we need.

I agree on Campbell but reckon we need to be prioritizing a big KPD first and foremost. Would make our defence so much better.

yeah agree. I just hope we don't force it like Essendon did with Mckay.

I'd be OK with a Jordan Butts as a FA, give up no draft capital and we can front load a deal whilst we're paying some of the younger guys a bit less. Definitely don't want to burn too much draft capital for it though unless we're getting a real gun in.

Yeah he’d be my main target too. He’s very good.
