With Prasad coming in this year was taking Latrelle a mistake?

Will be hard to fit Sharp, Latrelle, Matthew’s, Prasad, Chandler and Cross all in the same forward line.

As a bit of fun I asked AI to do a phantom draft. Gave me the below which is a good idea on how picks/players may land early in the year. Has us finishing 12th.

1. Richmond
Dougie Cochrane (Utility, SA)

• 196cm hybrid (key back / forward / midfield rotations)
• Elite IQ + composure for size
• Summary: Franchise spine player — safest No.1 in the pool

2. Essendon
Harry Van Hattum (Ruck/Fwd, Vic Metro)

• Athletic 200cm ruck-forward
• Covers ground + strong marking
• Summary: Long-term No.1 ruck with scoreboard impact

3. West Coast Eagles
Arki Butler (Fwd/Mid, Vic Metro)

• Explosive, creative, high-IQ forward-mid
• Game breaker in traffic
• Summary: X-factor talent — exactly what WC lacks

4. North Melbourne
Lewis Houndsome (KPF/Ruck, Vic Metro)

• Strong contested mark + physical presence
• Can chop out in ruck
• Summary: Structural key forward to complement Larkey

5. Port Adelaide
Gabriel Patterson (Forward, SA)

• Natural goal sense + sharp leading patterns
• Dangerous inside 50
• Summary: Immediate scoring threat, future focal point

6. Carlton
Cody Walker (Mid – Father/Son)

• Strong inside/outside mid
• Hits scoreboard, clean ball user
• Summary: Top-tier midfielder locked in via father-son

7. Melbourne Football Club
Archie Van Dyk (Mid, SA)

• Burst + stoppage craft
• Good decision maker under pressure
• Summary: Replaces lost midfield star power (Oliver/Petracca profile)

8. St Kilda
Kale Matthews-Hampton (Defender, SA)

• Intercepting defender with clean skills
• Reads play well
• Summary: High-end rebounding defender to stabilise backline

9. Collingwood Football Club

Benji van Rooyen (Key Position, WA)
• Athletic tall, versatile (fwd/back)
• Big upside but developing
• Summary: Succession piece for ageing spine

10. Greater Western Sydney Giants

Koby LeCras (Forward, WA)

• Smart small forward, elite finishing
• High footy IQ
• Summary: Classic GWS weapon — adds scoring polish

11. Adelaide Football Club
Noah Williams (Defender, Vic Country)

• Intercept + rebound combo
• Composed ball user
• Summary: Long-term distributor off half-back

12. Geelong Football Club
Tate Hodgson (Key Defender, Vic Metro)

• Strong 1v1 + aerial presence
• Developing but high ceiling
• Summary: Cats-style succession key defender

13. Hawthorn Football Club
Jack Pickett (Mid/Utility, Vic Country)

• Smooth mover, versatile role player
• Strong work rate
• Summary: Fits Hawks system — link player with upside

14. Western Bulldogs
Khaled El Souki (Forward – NGA)

• Powerful, explosive forward
• Natural goal kicker
• Summary: Replaces lost forward talent (JUH-type role)

15. Melbourne Football Club (via Gold Coast)
Darcy Szerszyn (Defender, Vic Country)

• Intercepting + athletic defender
• Can play medium or tall
• Summary: More flexible than a pure key back → complements Taylor

👉 Now this makes sense structurally:

• Pick 7 = midfield
• Pick 15 = flexible defender

✔ Balanced list build

16. Fremantle Football Club
Lucas Robinson (Mid – NGA)

• Strong inside mid with leadership traits
• Consistent performer
• Summary: Adds depth to already elite midfield

17. Carlton (via Sydney)
Garrison Kenh (Half-back, WA)

• Speed + rebound off half-back
• Good decision making
• Summary: Outside run + transition player (need for Blues)

18. Brisbane Lions

Caylen Murray (Mid/Def – Academy)
• Elite kick + composure
• Can play half-back or mid
• Summary: Perfect fit for Brisbane system

Will be hard to fit Sharp, Latrelle, Matthew’s, Prasad, Chandler and Cross all in the same forward line.
Sharp, Latrelle and Chandler could play on the wings for a bit; Chin or Matthews could go in the guts briefly; bench is always available. Injuries/shit form may just keep a couple out.

Probably right they don't all fit in the same side but could make it work by spinning the magnets.

Meanwhile, Stingrays teammate Marcus Prasad has also had moments in the early rounds as a lively forward.

Contrary to some reports, the Vic Country U16s representative is not tied to Melbourne through the club's Next Generation Academy.

AFL stiffed us again! :madv1:

Would love to see Jet Flower in red and blue. Robbie signed the number 2 on three of my jumpers as a lad. He was sublime.
Gotta get a grandfather - grandson rule in for club legends.
