I think it will all come down to whether we get Bailey Humphrey or not. because if we do it's gonna cost us our 2 first rounders I'd imagine. And then we'll have no good draft picks. I hope we keep our picks regardless. Super strong draft.

I don't think we can trade the Suns pick back to them, we'd have to swap it for a first elsewhere.

I think we need to be flexible with Humphrey, to be honest I probably don't want him now as I reckon we will be crap this year and it is very risky to give up picks for him. Would even be loath to trade our 2027 1st as I reckon we might be bad for more than one year.

I'm a big Humphrey fan but I'm just pretty convinced we are looking at a top 4 if not top 2 pick.

I get how some see the logic in that, but I don't see any outcome this season where (pending Humphrey having a good year) he's not an enticing pickup for us. We go poorly - He's 21, so still has 10 years in him. We go well - He's a young up and comer that helps in a weak spot of our list.

In seriousness the way the Suns list looks I'm treating that pick as pick 18 until post finals - still an upgrade on our second, but it might only be by a few spots.

he'd need to break out to warrant 2x first rounders though. At the moment, his numbers match Kade Chandlers almost exactly. He'd need to get 20 touches and 1.5 goals per game to warrant coughing up 2 firsts I reckon.

The club is clearly in a cultural reset after moving on Goodwin, Trac and Oliver. We are likely staring down the barrel of 4-5 or so retirements, and outside of Sparrow there's no obvious next wave of leaders putting their hand up. In that environment, paying overs (in terms of salary and trade capital) for a high maintenance player like Humphrey feels completely backward. His output and attitude so fare haven't come close to justifying that kind of investment. Better off hitting the draft unless he proves himself to be a consistent match-winner in 2026.

Giving up multiple picks for Humphrey would be madness when we've already whiffed on recent selections like Jefferson, Laurie and Tholstrup.

Meh. Top picks are not guaranteed to be successful. See Watts or Toumpas. If Humphrey keeps improving I'd take him in a heartbeat over any unknown draftee.

For sure, and there is a ton of moving parts here so I don't know how it'll end up. Just saying at this stage if we have say pick 4 they'll ask for that at a minimum for him, so you'd want to be very confident he will be better than whoever is available at 4.

Humphrey is a pretty enticing option if available. And there was strong word he really wanted to get to get to us last year. Personally think
We’ll get somewhere around pick 5 give or take. Then there’s a couple of academy picks in there.
I’m keen to see how Humphrey goes this year as I’m expecting many to be convinced to throw a lot at GC to get him. If as expected he takes off we’d be silly not to entertain a deal for him.

outraged? Now you're making stuff up. I'm not outraged.I'd like to bring in Humphrey, just not for what he would likely cost. And just going by pure numbers. Humphries needs to lift. I'd rather hold the picks. 15.4 touches and 1.1 goals a year playing on a team where not much attention is going his way is nowhere near good enough to warrant 2 firsts.
