We achieved so much from the Houston deal. Richard’s and Noble were wanted by Collingwood but they wanted other deals. They got us a place at the table and excluded other clubs. Possible deals are not always obvious.

GC’s cap would be fairly stretched already you’d imagine, and they have to actually have the room to match a deal.
Not sure how PA’s cap looks, but matching a $2m+ deal is going to be a tough task for any club.
And if JUH comes good it won’t help GC’s cap.

So JUH's contract is for one year with trigger.
Does said trigger mean he would have to re-sign with suns or would he be a free agent?
If he plays really well this year, is it likely that some other clubs might show some interest in him?

It comes under the fact that contracts don't expire till the 30th October. He either re signs or you have to trade for him

I see our primary needs residing in King and Butters. We are pretty desperate for a serious KPF, Max King is that. Midfield needs another top level player, Zak Butters is that.

Zac Bailey in my opinion wouldn't be worth it. He's a brilliant player and can be a difference maker but has plenty of blunders which Lions fans can probably tell you all about.

Bailey Humphrey would be a solid acquisition and would likely be a DeGoey replacement after he moves on. The most worthwhile recruits though would still be King and Butters as they fill holes that we don't really have a plan for at the moment. Not a lot of confidence that we can get either of them, considering Dogs are the likely front runners for Butters and King seems relatively happy at the Suns.

The club is being run quite well at the moment so hopefully we come out of the end of this year with some proper acquisitions. Feels like we realistically only have another year or two to sort these issues out.

Weve got this years first rounder for once and futures with Tassie coming in that we might as well use. Blow the bank on this bloke. Hes worth it
The part that worries me is giving up a couple of players as well. They're going to want 2 decent players like Carlton did with curnow.

It would be quite funny if we managed to extract both of Houston and Butters from Port, lol

They may be facing a long stint in the bottom half of the ladder. Poor buggers

I don't get why clubs would give up two good players to get one. I can understand paying over for them but not giving away players we still need.

The bulldogs are in a much better position. We'll spend our money much better and probably bring in a couple of lesser players.
