Yep.

King is priority one.

Then Bailey as that extra midfielder (Butters is way too expensive).

Then a capable key defender like Butts.

Those 3 would absolutely transform our team.
All 3 would be an incredible offseason. Would really help smooth the transition post Pendles/Sidey/Howe and would keep us really competitive for 5 years.

Here's hoping!

How good are the f/s and NGA kids? McGuane was rated a first rounder 12 months out. I’m cautious of them all now!
Very good.
Cochrane can play everywhere. Salopek is touted top 5 next year, who is a goal kicking mid and Pilot has massive skill and x factor as a 192cm speedy forward with immense marking ability.
They'll also have and fight for Tevita Rodan with essendon too, whose probably a bit later, not as high.

Well they have the Top Prospect at the Moment in there NGA

They will be absolutely filthy with the new rules after Gold Coast brought in about 10 top 10 picks

Suns are a Great Team so don't need that help/cheating now

We know that Walker or any of these tied players won’t be pick 1 as that rarely happens. But after that is free reign

Maybe it should happen more so teams are force to play full price

Don’t remind me of him overlooking Riccardi for those two and then trading the pick we could have used on him to GWS who took him instead.

Never been so angry about a draft night move ever.
I can’t remember such an obvious selection. We were screaming for a tall and he was right there in our palms.

He’s no superstar but he would have been unreal in tandem with Checkers imo.

I’m convinced that Port will dig their heels in too hard like Essendon did with Merrett and he’ll just sign for 2 years to take him to UFA. After the Houston debacle I have no doubt they’ll go too far the other way in their trading philosophy.
Yeah I think he'll be at Port in 2027 on obscene money. If there's some urgency to his desire to return home and he's willing to go to a shit team, it might change things. I just can't see good teams being willing to trade enough out in terms of players to satisfy Port.

Same. Every time his name comes up in this thread my mind goes straight to that draft.

He also played 13 games in his first year for 2 wins and 11 losses.
I wasn't in the country at that time so didn't see any games and don't know how well he played.
Were there a lot of injuries that year?
We had no depth that year after getting rid of Phillips, Treloar and Stephenson whilst adding no one with experience so an already physically developed overage with pace was always going to be in a position to play games that year.

The system worked. McGuane was inside the club. Collingwood assessed him as not to the standard of other options. So harsh. Collingwood and every other club didn’t choose at various levels of access. The NGA and FS are not perfect but the club gets great in sights. Go well Tom.

That's the draft. 17 is young. No one had heard of Quaynor 12 months out - or Bontempelli or Clarry Or macarthy and Saxena.

Everyone has their opinions on this (and other trades)

My opinion is we started losing our minds (for whatever reason) when we traded the Nick pick 12 months ahead

We were truly bonkers by 2023(drafting / trading)

I’ve got my fingers crossed O’Bree is the man and has the conviction to stand his ground when he makes his recommendations on players

(Plus some strong pick positions wouldn’t hurt)
