That's the draft. 17 is young. No one had heard of Quaynor 12 months out - or Bontempelli or Clarry Or macarthy and Saxena.
That’s a bit of a furphy, I’m pretty sure that IQ was being talked up on this board for over 12 months before being drafted.

Hasn't he once made the AA Squad of 40?

Yes Schultz is fantastic but he has not delivered a premiership like Ginni and Bobby did..... To date!
Oh come on let’s not pretend that Ginni contributed to our flag in any meaningful way, he was awful in 2023.

I don't think so. Dekka spoke about academy kids in defence of the much loved Sam Murray deal, a year out from the IQ draft. At first no one knew who he was talking about. That was when someone mentioned his name and said he might have been referring to him.

Maybe we should look at Jed Walter from the Suns. Probably easier to get than King and he does seem to have fallen behind Read in the pecking order.
If King keeps kicking bags like this he’ll be getting absolute monster offers. Assuming GC have to cough up at least $1.5m for him in addition to paying huge money to Trac, Mac and Rowell (also Anderson likely), if an offer of $800+k came for Walter (overs I know) they’d likely be blown out of the water in terms of a contract they could offer him. And he’s one they could definitely afford to let go given they have JUH waiting in the wings too.

i think his is from WA maybe Freo or WCE will be after Walters
He’s got family ties there but spent most of his time in qld growing up. Doubt that would tempt him to go to wet toast and Freo are golden in terms of key forwards rn.

Yeah, I think he left when he was 8 or so, so hard to say it'd have much pull one way or the other.

I still like Rodgers, he can play midfield very well. Pity he's stuck in the forward pocket
I think he’d struggle in the midfield at AFL level tbh, he’s essentially Caleb Daniel size.

I think this den of iniquity has made up alternative reality and will besmirch Ginni's achievements in 2023 because he now plays for Hawthorne. Ginni after all played in a GF and has a premiership medal. The last time I checked they're not that easy to own. 😉

Was Will Kelly he was referring to wasn’t it?

What’s an alternate reality is spending all day like yourself talking about a past trade that’s been discussed to death because Cornes mentioned it again. But please continue. What fun. Why don’t you start discussing beams again .

The doomers on this board like yourself also choose to ignore that the hawks decided Mitchell had no value and traded him to us for SFA. He was instrumental in us winning a flag.

It’s called the swings and roundabouts of trading.
Hawks were also paying a portion of Mitchell's 23 salary when he was traded to us.

Something the media never, ever seemed to mention.

We need King badly.
King 1.8 mill a year lock him away.
Butts,Busslinger,Blanck all out of contract tall defenders, get at least one of them as cover.
Alex Davies inside mid ooc add him to the list.
We need to be aggressive and we have the cash to splash, we pull those moves off we are back in the window.

Both. But also that there were a fair few from other clubs too. What he knew which us mugs didn't understand at the time was that it meant quite a lot of picks between our 2nd and Sydney's 3rd were going to vanish in matchng, so we actually didn't trade down that far to get Murray and it was likely to just be matching points anyway as we had two who were a good chance to go before the relevant picks.

Search this thread. It's locked so I can't quote it, but you were the second top contributor. Opened after the Murray deal, as an article named IQ. I was testing my memory as it's getting dodgier, but no mention of "Isaac Quaynor" on the Pies board before then. A couple of mentions on draft board.

Isaac Quaynor (Academy Prospect)
