and this is why nobody will get butters for free.
Port will make it a trade and you'll have to trade top 10-15 picks for.

They would want more that that

Do you think he'll demand more than curnow?, I think he will. It's going to cost 3 first rounders and a player or two. It's a lot to give up for whoever gets him
Agree, it'll be a lot. Def worth more than curnow on the open market.

Massively worth more than Curnow.

With the first 8 picks now off limits, won't it affect future picks? If a club gives up a future first and that pick turns out to be top 8, what happens then
Isn’t that just for compo? As in if a free agent leaves compo can’t be more than pick 9? Eagles getting pick 2 for Allen was insane

Not so sure about that, I think it will be highly dependant on a number of factors, namely where their boy looks like going in the draft order and where they finish. Way too early to be making the “nobody will get him for free” call.

Massively worth more than Curnow.

Sydney coughed up 25, 26 and 27 first round as well as 2 players. Butters is going to cost a fortune
Need to keep in mind that Curnow was under contract for a further 4 years at Carlton when this was done. Same with Petracca. Trading players under contract is a completely different beast to trading a RFA/out of contract player, the balance of power in negotiating a deal is vastly different.

Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere but the Devils' home ground is now formally not expected to be ready to host games until 2031. If they're lucky.

I can't see Nick going there in any case and I'm not buying all the media waffle about it, but asking a future all time great of the game to play at York Park and Bellerive for multiple years is a tough sell.

Excellent.

Here's something that has conveniently been missed by the media. Derek Hine went on Brian Taylor's "Life of Brian" podcast in June last year and during their chat, he said that Nick Daicos would be too big of a fish for the small pond that is Tassie.

I'm 99% sure Butters is going to the Bulldogs, but him coming to the Pies was referenced by Cornes on TV last night. Was he simply just trying to use the hypothetical in the "if he comes, Nick Daicos has to be paid more" sense, or have I missed something?

Probably tying to Stir up Trouble

Media is most likely Stirring the Pot for even a Small Chance of Getting Nick out of Collingwood

They hate we have such a Special Talent at Collingwood

Could Tassie Chase Josh Daicos and hoping that might mean Nick comes too?
