Makes as much sense as this.

I like Davis’ content and Ball Magnets aside his is the best non coaching content on social media, IMO, but he missed the mark here.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if Doncic’s management were in the media about talking to Seattle or Vegas when the expansion happens then there’d be talkback and articles about his future as well. You can’t not expect it to be a story while his management are publicly giving it oxygen.

Be careful, we’re not allowed to say those things around here. This is the media’s fault!

I think this den of iniquity has made up alternative reality and will besmirch Ginni's achievements in 2023 because he now plays for Hawthorne. Ginni after all played in a GF and has a premiership medal. The last time I checked they're not that easy to own. 😉
Rorzza pls… he was fringe 22, dropped multiple times during the year, only scraped in to the team for the GF by the skin of his teeth and barely contributed anything on the day. John Noble should rightly have felt aggrieved at missing out while Ginni was selected.

This whole Ginni thing is an exercise in futility, he's not likely to be coming back to Collingwood any time soon.

Okay, I get it now. Ginni played 42 games and kicked 58 goals over the 3 years at CFC and left as a 20 year old but BF believes Ginni didn't deserve the GF appearance because of his form on and off the field through out 2023. Um, fare enough, I understand the logic but I don't know if it passes the pub test. 👍

I’m tipping any pub you go to, and pump up Ginni won’t end well - he’s a polarising figure. 😜

Just to add context to this article from Sam McClure:

Not three days ago on the Tradies podcast he co-hosts, he made clear the only club that Daicos would ever move should he leave Collingwood is Tasmania.

This article also dropped just two days after Cal Twomey reveals Collingwood has buckets of money available after paying out Grundy.
Anyone who listens to whispers coming out of small collingwood circles knows that nick has definitely spoken about gc again in recent times.. to say he'd only leave for tassie is just for promotion of the team sam Is probably being given cash in hand by the afl to do so 🤣

Can't personally see him leaving but the Suns one wouldn't surprise me. At draft time it almost seemed like he had comfort in knowing that the Suns would bid on him, given their list, where they are, and the opportunity to play with Rowell and Anderson.

Again, can't see it happening.... but gee you'd love to go shopping in the GCS list and pick shop for compensation.

If we pause for a second this rings about as true as that Hawthorn rumour. GC can offer success* and lifestyle, but what tells me this is either patently untrue or a Daicos only move is that at GC his earning capacity drops by at least 50% on field and who knows what factor off field. His management wouldn’t want a bar of this. If I had to guess this harks back to the moves made last offseason with GC clapping back at our Humphrey play.

*what does success look like if they need to gut their list to afford his salary and off field $’s and satisfy a trade? I wouldn’t even be at the table without Humphrey, Read, Patterson and Uwland as their starting point. Alternatively they can split their zone with us on a 100 year lease 🤷‍♂️

We all know what the conversation was at GC.
“Hey Benny, how about you leave this place and come to the collessium to play in front of 90,000 every week with me kicking the ball down your throat on your way to being the next footballer to kick 100 goals in a premiership year? You will make quazillions!”

I don’t think he’s a good fit for us. He’s low possession and completely reliant on a Dunstall/ Lockett/ Capper ability to turn every possession into a goal. He has 16.1 on the season from 24 disposals which is a lot easier to manage when you’re taking most of your shots 30 out directly in front with 10 people and a dog in the stands and 40 points up. We play a lot more attritional style of football which is essentially akin to finals every week unlike the GC Globetrotters.

I suspect his numbers against the top 4 and in finals last year is more representative of what we’d be getting than the 5 goal a game player we currently see.

Who's the key forward that would most benefit in our system you think Sco?

I don't think any key forward would benefit from our current system. Put Lance Franklin in his prime on the park for us, I think he'll struggle too, given the quality of our inside 50 entries. If we can clean up the latter and actually kick the ball to the advantage of our forwards, I think our existing attack is capable of kicking a winning score.

I mean the obvious answer is Thilseeker or Darcy, but if it’s a guy you might get a sniff of then it’s Treacy. Saturday nights game was a bit off broadway and Voss’ histrionics took most of the spotlight from what was a pretty lacklustre contest, but he was phenomenal.

He’ll kick 60+ this year barring injury and it would absolutely translate if he moved. The way he flies at the ball with his dukes is league best with only Thilthorpe his peer primarily because he’s so ****ing huge.

If we can get to end of the year and all off Hill, West, Steel and Harrison have all cemented their spot in the team, then I think its a major tick in terms of improving speed/transition around the ground.

Tassie will come hard for him..but after Brad Scott threw Caddy under the bus in the presser yesterday and knowing he only signed a 2 year extension until the end of next year...let's get in his ear.
“Ya know Anzac Day? Well would you like to win one occasionally?”
