I’d say it’s more likely Parker is in line for an upgradeMaybe a sign they think the Condon chase is over

Yes, it's his 3rd year, and he will need to go onto our Primary List (at the end of the year).Possibly. Or .. has parker done his 3 years? Maybe he would need promotion.
He’ll be so banged up by then that his best will be truly behind him. Sadly, you can’t play the game as physically as he does without attrition and declineRowell is eligible for UFA status in 2029.
You’re offering 12 month old information and lamenting it as if it still applies.Said this last year on the forum after speaking to a very close family member of his.
At that stage, he only had serious approaches from western bulldogs and Geelong.
We had not even made an approach.
Unfortunately, like Lynch and Cameron, we are again late to the party.
- Considering we are the biggest club in the league, and have one of the biggest player managers in the country taking care of our affairs, seems like we are again all over the shop with our approach.
Annoying.

We should have and not Traded for Pick 29 and 30I know this has been done to death but please remind me if we could have still kept our pick 3 and taken Callaghan as well as Nick back in the 2021 draft.
Ok, rocks in our head....We should have and not Traded for Pick 29 and 30
That Scenario it probably would have but did not go until Pick 4Ok, rocks in our head....
I thought the Naicos pick would have absorbed pick 3, points wise and thats why we traded it for the two lower picks.
Anyway thats history now.
Did Moore get injured again? There is a lot of talk about the lack of key forwards but what about the lack of key backs. With no moore next week we are just going to have to sweat it out like we did against crom and saints. Yes, we do have cochran and reef but neither of them have proven themselves yet. Both are decently undersised for a real key back aswell. We should try and poach one in the offseason
apparently, he is aware he has a hamstringDid Moore get injured again?
Such a clever footballerapparently, he is aware he has a hamstring
You'd written Zak Butters off last year. Meanwhile, Libba is still playing outstanding footy. He’ll be so banged up by then that his best will be truly behind him. Sadly, you can’t play the game as physically as he does without attrition and decline
Look at Hannebery, banged when he went to the saints and didn’t play much there. Cripps is half the player he was, Walsh can’t play a full season, Prestias body is shot. There are many examples of elite mids who’s early heavy loads shorten their careers or impact later performance. I don’t believe my point is particularly controversial. You'd written Zak Butters off last year. Meanwhile, Libba is still playing outstanding footy.
And there are plenty of cases which undermine your point. To speak so definitively about a player is oddLook at Hannebery, banged when he went to the saints and didn’t play much there. Simply offered a counter argument based on facts- to think players doing heavy grunt work don’t suffer attrition in performance in later parts of their career is hardly controversial. And there are plenty of cases which undermine your point. To speak so definitively about a player is odd
Your facts were some blokes who've had some injuries. A couple of them not crash and bash inside mids. One who has just signed a really long deal a couple of weeks ago and another who won a Brownlow after the age you confidently asserted Rowell would be cooked.Simply offered a counter argument based on facts- to think players doing heavy grunt work don’t suffer attrition in performance in later parts of their career is hardly controversial.
The fact that all my list are not crash and bash actually adds to my point not detracts from it.Your facts were some blokes who've had some injuries. A couple of them not crash and bash inside mids. Rowell is one of the elite mids of the comp. The current trend is that they're still guns into their thirties - whether they crash in like Selwood and Dangerfield or cruise around like our two veterans.
Totally off topic here but if Kaneo Cornes is suggesting that the Hawks should shelve the Zac Merrett theme and switch their efforts instead towards Toby Greene for two years....why wouldn't we also look that way?
Greene is a wonderful footballer and would take a lot of pressure off Jamie Elliott if they played in the same team. And he fits our age profile!
Agreed - if he was ever going to join it would have been best at the time of his last extension (2021?). He’s a gun, and he’d immediately become by far the most hated player in the comp if he joined which would be fun. But seems unlikely as we seem to be pushing for younger FAsI don't think it fits our model. His salary would be too high. I think we're using salary cap to get/keep blokes with 6 years ahead of them eg Perryman and the other blokes you hear about us chasing. Whereas we're looking to underpay the blokes with a couple of years left - ala losing Checkers and Elliott being such a late signing. Late career blokes we add are likely to be like Titch and Membrey - list needs who are unwanted at their club and don't cost a big salary. He'd be excellent though.

Big no to Greene. Not because he’s a f-wit though sure that may taint my judgement but mostly because he has lost a yard of pace (and he didn’t have many to begin with) and is relying on his static decision making and snaps. Does not fill a need for us.
It’s clear we need to go to younger recruits if we’re serious about the future of our list (the likes of Humphrey Gruzewski for me) and focus on pace and dynamism, but if we are to bring some oldies I’d rather do that on the defensive side say a Vlastuin.
