Not that obvious - LMac played his role and held Rosas really well.
In saying that, as soon as he drops Riley will be straight in given he's finding some form.

The first goal of the game for Sydney, came from a LMac long bomb into our forward line, that went straight to a Sydney defender, for a rebound and goal. I dont care how well he is "performing his role". As long as he is doing that, he is letting the team down and should be replaced.

Counter to Devil's Advocate: LMac is the only one who consistently long bombs to no advantage after having played over 200 games. It's only happening less often because either his kicks are being smothered or he's tackled whilst winding up for the long bomb.

Very generous to say LMac has thrived. The game has gone past him. Such a poor user and slow decision maker.

No doubt, he has his limitations.

I don’t see the problem mate.

Some of the later training shots are getting a bit out there though.

And the other is the other former skipper, Jy. We have the foot on the throat. We have momentum. And what does Jy do in the first quarter, he does a dumb kick and gives it straight back.
If we want to take a step forward. We have to replace the ones who play dumb.

Swans first - Heeney kicked a goal from the centre square after a ball up following multiple stoppages inside the centre square.

Lmac wasn't involved.

Second goal came from Daniel kicking long to the pack 20m out from goal. Edwards punched the ball a mile and they went end to end with handball.

Third goal came after Blamires went long into the forward line, the ball got over the back bounced away from our players for a behind. They went end to end again.

The next one was a very soft free to Heeney v LDU in the middle. He was tackled by George and no free, another soft free v JK for deliberate then along kick and mark to McLean in front.

Last goal was another CC. Another very soft free v LDU (grabbed Warner for a split second , happens 100 times a game usually nothing.) Long kick inside their 50, breakdown of play, Amartey snaps the goal.

Lmac was on Rosas and kept him out of the play. he may have had a chance to stop Amartey if he's left Riosas but then Rosas would have been free in front of goal and got the handball. (LMac was also holding Rosas more than LDU held Warner in the centre ball up but of course nothing happened cos that sort of thing usually isn't payed.)

Five Sydney goals in the first quarter, none from Lmac long bombs to turnover. I'm not watching the rest to see what happened there.

Is worth pointing out at this point that most goals to both sides came to long kicks to the forward line, their fl was more open than ours tho.

CBF watching the first quarter again. But I would put money on that a long bomb by Lmac in the first was marked uncontested by a Swans defender and resulted in a goal.

I can confirm that no long bomb by LMac was marked by a Swans defender and resulted in a goal. I watched every Swans goal in the first quarter to see what happened and described it above.

Maybe their first goal came after a long bomb from Lmac but in between there were a bunch of stoppages in the centre square and eventually Heeney got clear and kicked their first goal. but that isn't directly from an Lmac long bomb.

I'm not making shit up.

Perhaps you are mistaking the Daniel long bomb that was thumped forward by Edwards in a huge pack - the Swans went end to end with handball and Logan McDonald kicked a goal.

I went and had a look for you. He did kick long inside 50 early in the game. Edwards marked uncontested and it went up the other end for a shot on goal but no score.
