So Larkey alluded to two game plan tweaks for the coming season, that would help us defend better

One was specifically a defensive tweak, the other seemed to be offensive

And track watchers noticed anything?

In relation to Defence - it will be far less “zonal set up”

… and a lot more back/shoulder man-on-man defence set up.

We "look" to be more 1x1 rather than zoning off.

Other than that, not really. There'll be others with a better eye for game style.

I suspect with the recruitment of smaller forwards, we'll be looking to utilise that pressure and having them get up and down the ground.

Caleb's 20m bomb to the picket, and then running himself, and his teammate, into trouble is still there.

May end up being more subtle than sounds on paper - but that’s what their going with

The successful Clarkson era zone system can breakdown pretty badly to the speed of modern footy, especially since the stand rule can in ( and the lists skill set ie pink,archer,logue etc probably suited to less zone)

It’s taken a couple of years to accept it - but that’s were it’s heading.

Last chance saloon for Clarko - defensive structure has been appalling since he has been coach (obvious to many on here and posted as such) and now its going to change in year 4 of his regime. Why the heck has it taken this long????

he clearly thought our players were smarter than they are and willing to play a complex zone defence

need to make it easier for our players and just one on one back shoulder defend so we do not get caught out

agree should've been changed years ago instead of being stubborn thinking it would work

It’s nice to know that plebs on the sidelines can see in two years what these paid to coach the side take double that to work out.
