Bailey Smith done a calf injury doing a channel 7 AFL commercial according to leading Herald Sun reporter John Ralph

More news to come

It's not a long bow its flat out nonsense. Of course the coastal suburbs are windier than the middle inland suburbs that's just physics. Anyone can establish this on the BOM site (well, maybe the old one). The mean daily wind run for Jandakot is more than 15% less than Swanbourne for instance.

Of course they get strong katabatic winds in the foothills, but that's hardly at at a time of day when footy training is on.

I was never good at physics

Anyone who thinks Freo oval isn't windy has not watched an AFLW game

The only rival for wind in that comp is "windy hill"

Joondalup has been really windy every preseason game. I remember seeing full backs torpedos landing in the centre circle.

Get practicing on St George’s Tce one afternoon and then Fremantle, Cockburn, Joondalup, suburban oval in Willagee or Beaconsfield will be a walk in the park. It was bad call.

Does anyone know when we get barcodes for Saturday’s game against Adelaide?

During the season it is usually about 48 hours before, IIRC so I would assume something similar.

Is it possible that Cockburn could be windier in pre-season when its hot and the easterly blows most mornings, but Freo is windier during the cooler months and when the sea breeze comes in?

Think it was a early strong southerly wind last Saturday morning. It's why they cancelled the Rottnest swim.

Negative: Blues look like they've hit gold with Jagga and Dean

Positive: WC effectively passing on Jagga and Reid in the 24 draft is going to be very very funny

Even funnier is the Weags could of had Murph, Jagga, Sheezel and Harley
Don’t mean to be a party pooper but they can’t have passed on both Murphy and Jagga. If they kept their original pick they could have had Jagga. They then doubled down on the poor decision making to pass on Murphy. But yes

Sheezel > Ginbey/Hewitt
Smith > Allan/Baker

Had a quick look at today’s training with the little to report as it was just a skills session (no sims).

Rehab - Sturt, Nicholls (I think) and a brief Riddle appearance

Darcy not sighted at all but Banners, Luke R and Simpson all trained.

Light duties - JOM - ran a few laps early then disappeared. Switta, did warm up, kick to kick etc but no contact drills.

Ollie Murphy had heavy strapping to his right knee and left the track during the warm up. Returned a bit later but went straight to the rehab group and looked hampered by something (knee I assume).
Pearce not sighted and Cox (the desert headed one) was in the gym only. I’m guessing that gives us Draper, O’Mac and Davies as our key talls for the weekend. If so will be interesting to see how the go against the Crows tall forwards assuming they all play

There was a big applause and cheers after the warm ups so I’m thinking we may have a debut on the weekend - Sweid, Kickett, Whan …

Both Banners and Simpson trained as defenders with Wags in the midfield group
Murray and Scerri both spent sometime in the midfield drills but mostly forward
Sweid in the forward group

Well that’s about it except for Andy. Nothing to worry about but noticed he spent lots of time on the sidelines during the drills. When on the park I didn’t see him kick long and he just didn’t look 100%. He’s not injured but might be a bit sore after last week … maybe 🤷‍♂️
