Training 2026 Training Reports

Too early to write Davies off, but he is one of those players who you sort of expect a cat 10 or two off each game.
Preseason is perfect then, we can write off the cat10’s as situational training for the real season without it costing us any premiership points.

Just saw Adelaide's injury list, and they are quite depleted too.

On a related side note, I hope Soligo is OK long-term. Heart-related conditions must be terrifying when you are an elite athlete. I recall Dylan Roberton having to retire prematurely when he'd just established himself as an AA calibre rebound defender.

I do think Draper is the better footballer but the non-rating of Davies on this board is ridiculous.

He was for example twice the player Murphy was at WAFL last year and now this board is writing Davies off as delist material and Murphy as some future AFL player based off a few moments in preseason. There's obviously been zero games of between end of last season and now - Until Murphy outperforms Davies at WAFL level (or AFL) in my mind Davies is still ahead by a fair bit.

I don't rate Murphy at all not do I rate Davies.

Draper has the talent all be it he looks casual.

Draper reminds me of what Pearce looked like when he started out, played insecurely and lacked confidence in body and himself and so just needs game time. He'll be fine.

What's the main knock on Murphy?
There is no knock on Ollie Murphy, he has the potential to become an elite key defender - a hybrid version of Pearce snd Cox. I'd go so far as to say he will end up McPharlane reincarnated.

(I may or may not be his buddy)

If you put it out there, it will happen.

I mean, look at Bailey Banfield. Tonga Bob has pretty much manifested his whole career to date.

I dunno man, but those goose's over at purple reign love it too, not sure if they coined it, but yeah
All the more reason to boycott it, maaaaaayyyyytttteeee.

Am I the only one who dislikes ‘cat 10’? Why is this a thing.
I know right. Take the context of the actual sport, pressure and speed into account and Cat 10 is just a silly term. Now, if the missed kick or something just gave up a goal that lost a GF then yes it's a Cat 10. But not some turnover in Q2 of a Round 2 game..

Correct! There is no Cat 10, the scale goes to 5. If you have a player doing a regular thing every week that is double the scale then it really isn’t rare enough to be called that.

This is the most outrageous call since athletes starting saying they are giving 110% effort.

That scrub Young occasionally misses a target
100% efficiency or GTFO!

In all seriousness I'd just about rate Young's left foot as our best kick and his right foot as our second best kick.

Clark is also a very good kick, as is Treacy.
