Cox was one of our most important players after the first month of the season. Was looking great this pre season as well. Hopefully he comes back strong early.
Cox had one of those moments in the EF that eill hopefully drive him to a new level

I will have to agree that Bolton is a strong contender for worst kick & that Young is a bit overrated.
Young has a beautiful kicking action, great penetration and low trajectory but he does spray a few.

Bolton kicks regular howlers and his goal kicking is atrocious at times. I noticed this at Richmond. He would have games where he couldn’t miss but more regularly games where he couldn’t hit the side of a barn.

Reid is the best kicker in the team. Because of how rarely he wastes it and how often he sets up scoring chains.

Just some notes from training today ( if you can trust me after totally missing the Young injury).

Rehab
Only Karl Worner and Sturt in rehab ( occasional appearances from Nicholls and Riddle).
Worner was moving well and doing a mountain of work including laps at speed.
Sturt was doing a lot of lateral movement and certainly far more work than a month ago but we all know it’s another 3 months before he gets serious.

No sightings of Pearce, small Cox or Amiss.

Darcy, Ryan and Switnazigoreng were training fully and none had the red cap so all involved in full contact. Great to see Simpson, Riddle and Chuck Nicholls fully involved as well.

Some notes from training today

Gee the group has come together nicely and the kicking and connection skills are of a high level and much improved since returning from Chrissy.

I enjoyed Clark at full tilt running for the mark and being dumbfounded by Scerri running around him and completing the mark. Serious pace Scerri.

Jackson was completely dominating all over the ground and absolutely TTHD.

It must be noted that the only player the Freo girls cheered whenever he ran past was Worner, he is a clear favourite!

The youngest recruits are now all nicely part of the team and don’t look out of place except possibly Luke Ryder who I never notice. The best of the lot today was Sweid who seems to have got his confidence right up and is really attacking the footy and any player in the way.

Banfield and O Murphy both left training looking sore but not carried off sore.

Overall. I thoroughly enjoyed the session and the progress of our players but I think we need Moose and small Cox back asap if we are really going to threaten in round 1.
