It’s clubs like Collingwood that pay the bills so we can keep these flops afloat. Round zero is a horrid idea. If people give a * about footy in the west of Sydney let’s see them actually support their club and show up

This isn't the Premier League where only the richest clubs thrive.

We have one country where our sport is played professionally, so we have to make sure it's competitive. You need competitive clubs, too. Nobody wants to tune in to floggings every week.

You need teams to play against. Nobody's going to watch if it's just the six richest clubs playing each other.

We don’t need 19 clubs though

You are complaining about your club travelling and yet the Giants travelled more last year, in one year, than the pies have done total in what 9 years?

You played 11 home games like everyone else not our fault you chose to sell them. Then 1 away game v the Swans so you travel 11 times now with gather round. So you played the same amount of away games interstate as we did in two years champion.

So you're hard done by because you've had to play 11 interstate games over two years? Compared to non-Victorian teams playing that every year?

Wasn’t counting Canberra champion.

Just out of interest where should we play our away games against other Melbourne sides?
No one said anything about playing against Melbourne teams elsewhere, just pointing out how weird it is you are whinging about having to play away in Round O considering the Pies don’t travel really.

Merely correcting a comment that was wrong buddy. Just out of interest where should we play our away games against other Melbourne sides?

In general? In Melbourne. It just means you don't get to whine about having to travel.

But you also travel less than other Melbourne teams. You don't travel to Geelong, or play Melbourne teams when they play home games in the NT, Ballarat, Launceston and Hobart.

You just sound ridiculous when you complain about travel (and probably embarrassing to other Collingwood fans).

Stop crying about having to play in Sydney in opening round It's really not a big deal you will get to be at the MCG the week after, Stop complaining about travel Vic teams do the least amount of travel, The WA teams do the most and they don't complain, Its really not a big deal

you're the only one champ, everyone else is laughing at you, just stop
You have NFI champ. It was merely stated that round one selling out is due to the unusual circumstances of the reigning premiers playing interstate to open the year that has happened once in the last 15 years and not an indication of the level of demand for giants games.

From there, we had the ludicrous and unsubstantiated claim that the Giants played more interstate games last year than the Pies did across the last 9.

More that we had played in 11 venues last year Pies obviously nowhere near that.
Didn’t get it across right. Obviously.

This all blew up because you had a whinge about travel for round O.

its the AFL trying to help grow the sport in NSW stop crying about it and suck it up, you are only making your self look more like a joke

Don’t sell your home games then. Simple as that
It's to help grow the game in Canberra the potential team 20, just because you don't do it doesn't mean that you can go target clubs that need the money, the AFL also probably gives good incentives to these clubs, they have to do to make sure they don't go under at the moment Canberra is important to the giants, Interstate teams have to travel further even with out the home games they sell
