My friends, we should welcome the 316 game superstar from our brothers from the East with open arms. He gives his all on the field, he's a leader of men and he's more than solid depth for what will be a unique year for the club with Naitanui going down.

May this thread serve as a constant reminder of all the great things Drew will bring to this club on-field this year and off-field many years into the future.

Barring any selection surprises, Petrie will become the 231st Eagles player this weekend. He'll also be the second oldest to make his debut, and the second oldest Eagle ever (both behind Sam Mitchell who's three days older). He'll be the most experienced Eagles player ever, his 316 games is slightly ahead of Mitchell's 307 and a full season ahead of Dean Cox's 290.

In more random facts, he'll be the fourth player to appear for WCE after having played for North (behind Glendinning, Hepburn and Chad Jones), the ninth player to wear the #21 guernsey (behind Colledge, Lynch, Merenda, O'Brien, Schofield, Metropolis, McGrath and O'Connell) and the second Drew, although there's been a few Andrews which is sort of the same.
