Riverina recruit Jacob Townsend made his AFL debut in Round 1, 2012 and played 11 games for the GIANTS in his first AFL season. Originally from Leeton, Townsend joined the GIANTS under the club’s zoning concessions and has been part of the club since its inauguration in 2010. Townsend was awarded the Coaches Award at the 2012 Kevin Sheedy Medal for his fearless attack on the footy.

If they were offering him a contract but gave him up for a pick they aren't going to use then it may be a return for helping make Collingwood pay so highly for Treloar

They will use their picks since they can package them for points to bid on academy players

We got him for Pick 70 (Fourth rounder) and got their 7th rounder back (lol)

Richmond has secured a trade for young Greater Western Sydney midfielder Jacob Townsend, on a two-year contract.

The Tigers have swapped their fourth round selection (currently pick 70) in the 2015 National Draft, for Townsend and the Giants’ seventh round selection.
