People are making judgment on a short clip that has been shown on media releases , but the court has full access to video of what occurred beforehand , and after . I think we should wait and see what the verdict is , and accept whatever the outcome brings . Maybe his legal representative can argue that his football training played a part in his victim not sustaining a lethal head injury . Who knows what may influence the sentencing ? Either way , we will find out soon enough .

The punches Balta threw would have no chance of killing anyone.

The charge in could have killed anyone.
One of the nicest guys Bendigo on a night out with his girl was been harassed by a drunk who followed them on the street. He showed him away the dude fell hit his head and died. It is that simple now the idiot is dead and the guy ended up in jail. What happened and what could have happened with Balta are the same thing just shear luck.

Dude what part of him pleading Guilty don't you get. If the clip wasn't enough maybe he would know what else have happened. Remorse, guilty plea,Forgiveness by the other party and maybe alcohol should see him get community service. If the AFL stepped in and gave him half a season off well no one would be still talking about it. Anyway we will soon know like you say. I just Hope other player's can learn from this crap and pull their heads in.

As some are aware, I do know the Balta camp and was privy to some discussions that the other side, I guess, as part of the settlement, would not be seeking a custodial sentence. This has now come out, so here is the link.

Washbrook's lawyer does seem to talk favourably for Balta in this ABC interview, and good to hear that his client is doing better and moving on with his life.

Correct and not sure why some have said it's a cowards punch, it wasn't, a hip and shoulder, then the victim looking at him while he threw a few punches, which still didn't knock out the victim.

He is off the booze and has attended many courses. He truly is remorseful.

have been in balta's bros situation plenty of times in my youth, for whatever reason you become the target of some pisshead that wants to go you all night. theyll come up and stand within range of you and act casual then out of nowhere throw a punch and it's on. to me that's what balta saw happening with his brother and intervened. over the top in his methods but i understand what he was doing. clearly wasnt some random act of violence like some are suggesting.

Just let the legals deal with the it , and accept what is forthcoming . I will ask you , "Do you know the exact circumstances of the altercation" , I doubt it ? Why attack me for offering a point of view , that it is up to the court to decide his fate . If he gets a term of imprisonment , so be it . Probably he gets sacked . If he doesn't , I say , play on .

I'm not attacking you and yes had info from people that were there and witnessed it as I said from the start. The guy was never aggressive even after been attacked never hit back. Total cowardly act and people still defending him well society is lost anyway what's a few more to add. To be honest I couldn't care less if he gets locked up or not I just don't want him anywhere near the club.

I'm not attacking you and yes had info from people that were there and witnessed it as I said from the start. The guy was never aggressive even after been attacked never hit back. Total cowardly act and people still defending him well society is lost anyway what's a few more to add.
