Yup I like Harry’s kicking, and marking, good mobility for a tall too.
Should present well as a defender in the 2/3 year, he has a great opportunity to lean from excellent defenders in Weitering and Haynes .

Good mark and not afraid to use his good foot skills either.
Uses his speed to play on if the opportunity presents, spoils well - and still people complain???

Welcome to the club Harry.
not sure anyone is complaining, just noting that (as expected for a pick 40) he has a few things to work on to be a long term AFL player

He seems to have a lot of good traits. Marks and spoils well, long reach, can play body on body well and looks to be a good athlete. He will take a little time for his body to mature. I don't expect he will be a player who really kills it in the VFL, but I think when he gets his chances we will be happy. It's going to come down to his footy brain and particularly his decision making and reading of the game. You look at Young, he has a lot of these good traits but it's the footy brain and decision making which let him down.

I'm happy with what I see but it will come down to how he develops. I like how he plays with some confidence, that's important.

Way better than a pick 40. I got a bit excited on the draft thread and said he was top 20 any other year.

Maybe that's a stretch, but I'd suggest he's top 30 most yrs, likely in the 24-28 range, so he's a steal at 40. Even this yr I'm slightly surprised he lasted until pick 40 - very happy with this selection.

Likely won't see him (barring injury) until 2026 for a game or 2, more consistently 2027 on, but a great get imo.

Months ago, somebody alluded that we may have suggested (cough, cough) that he spend 2024 getting his body over any niggles. The person was probably guessing. But certainly, his 2023 season had him on club radars for all the right reasons.

His old man is our lawyer?
We’re so awesome sometimes, and by the looks of this kids highlights, he doesn’t look too far away from walking into our backline, super impressed!👍

Welcome to the mighty Blues Harry. Taken under the solicitor father/son rule.

Considering that he wants to be a solicitor himself when he gets older... so another generation of excellent legal representation in the pipeline.

Welcome to the Blues Harry.

As an aside, I reckon that we put him on the Weiters diet and training regime and sit him in the VFL for 12 months. Then start giving him games in the senior side from 2026 on.

Looks a nice option - solid in the air, quick closing speed & very clean by foot.

Weiters has a protégé finally.
I reckon Liam Jones Mk 2 really. Hopefully without the brain fades.

Their very impressive with picking players around this range, haven't seen a lot of O'Farrell but I'm pretty confident we have got this right. 👍
They absolutely nailed this pick. While there are other players who are better in certain areas as defenders, Harry seems to have it all spread out evenly. Good mark, kick, spoil, greast closing speed and likes to dash out of defence like Liam Jones did.

Wow, he looks like a natural kick of the ball. Which is amazing for his height. Doesn't look awkward one bit.

He also has the confidence to run too? I'm impressed.
Great judgement going back with the flight of the ball to spoil as well.

Sometimes you need a big body and strength, sometimes you just know how to use your body. His highlights show he knows how to use his body. SOS and Dustin Fletcher played a lot of footy without being massive. He could be under assuming. We will see.

I like him smart footballer who I plays the percentages spoil close to goal interception further out.
I I’m sure he will be training hard wouldn’t take more than three unfortunate injuries before we would need him.
He has composure that comes from confidence in your abilities. He doesn’t rely on one attribute

Is Harry any chance to play next year?? If he can add a bit of muscle and size would love to see him feature in our team next season

A lot to like with this young fella. I agree with a previous poster that he moves like Harris Andrews. I love the way he takes the game on when he gets possession. Looks up straight away and takes the first option. And best of all, hos kicking technique for a big guy is excellent, those highlights showed he can execute. Great size as well

Really happy with the list management team. Stoked we have invested in the draft and identified the right talent. No pressure for Harry to play in the next 1 - 2 years and done great mentors around him to help develop his craft.

The good young talls come on quicker now than in the past. If he stays fit during the coming season, reckon will push to be a staple in ‘26.

Excellent closing speed for a tall prospect, takes the game on with his marking and kicking (from my position as an armchair critic who's watched a few highlight reels).

I'm quietly optimistic here. Good player to develop around Weits, Newman, Haynes, Gov; different lessons to learn from each of them.
