Pick 5 to us St Kilda for Carlisle and pick 25. This is the middle ground between St Kilda's offer and what Essendon want.

Carlisle isn't only a good defender, he can go forward and kick some goals too.

St Kilda and Gold Coast really took difficult to deal with to the next level.

Saints should do this deal. Dunno if Ess would though.

Don't be sucked in by their 'offer'. The only reason they tabled that was to get their supporters used to the idea pick 5 will go after a week of saying its not on the table. And to create a situatuion to get what they want by creating a middle ground.
Their offer was absurd. Basically 5 for 23 and 25 (forget 63) is insulting, not an offer.

I see it as the first stage of the bargaining process, which really should've been done the moment the trade period has started. Dragging it out will frustrate anyone involved

Cool! Is he also a gun defender?
No but the words "gun" and "defender" don't really sit that well for me.

Don't get me wrong Carlisle's a good player but the only defender I'd think of trading for a top 10 pick would be Alex Rance.

1 to 10 pretty much reserved for forwards and mids.

Your midfielders must be frustrated then. Pretty sure you'd be paying him more than any of them.

Essendon's offer was pick 41 and Carlisle for pick 5
Saints offer was pick 5 for Carlisle, pick 23 and pick 25

Through the four team trade it'll be Carlisle for pick 10. (I would take this).

The Hawks deal (pick 14 and pick 18) is still the best offer. I still think he will end up getting there.

Pick 5 for Carlisle and 25? Definitely should do this. Sick of it really.

No need to get Gold Coast and Port involved. Gold Coast are asking for something outrageous and we really shouldn't help them out.
Ports future 1st is going to the Saints as well isn't it?

If Port feel the need to accommodate both those clubs demands, well that's their business.

If 10 is on the table, sign off on it ASAP and move on.

Lucky carlIsle is a bit more than just a defender. To say you wouldn't trade Hurley
For a top 10 pick is absurd

Speaking without bias, I think 10 for Carlisle is a shit deal.

True. As you've also discovered it's very hard to prove either way, but the strongest hint is this line:

“I talk to (Treloar’s manager) Peter Blucher all the time. Peter knows that this is not free agency. People can nominate where they want to go, it doesn’t mean they’ll get there.” - Graeme Allen.

Interesting then that Collingwood improved their bid for Treloar in the following days.
What do you mean very hard to prove?

If you had a gun defender rather than Zac Dawson you'd have a nice 'name-a-game' DVD to watch every now and again.

Yeah I didn't think there was any ever doubt that players can't be traded without consent.

If they did Hooker would be at WCE
