How on gods earth is Dixon worth more than Carlisle. Despite the much publicised preference for Jake to play back I'd still choose him over Dixon as a forward.

Ryder and Carlisle are worth top 5 picks. Clubs are just trying to screw us because of WADA bullshit swinging public opinion violently against us AND the club being desperate to get back in the draft.

I look at the talk around both trades and I shake my head. If Ryder and Jake didn't ask to leave the club and another one came up kicking tires and offered any pick for them I'd say no. You can't guarantee that you will get a player like them.

On the other hand I wouldn't trade a first round pick for Dixon.

Sorry to intrude on here, but do you guys think the Hawks of any chance of landing carsilie? Or do you believe he will be a saint thanks.
I think he'll be at the Saints. I think JC is after money, I wouldn't rule the Hawks out though, I think he would go there before the PSD. I think the Hawks are likely a last resort, maybe unless you can find more $$$

Hey, certainly not a troll here.
Anyone hear the caller Finey had last night on SEN called Dragen.
He had a great 4 way deal to solve the Carlisle deal, seemed to satisfy all the needs of StK, Ess, Haw & Coll.
StK get Carlisle and Freeman, give 5.
Haw get 5, give 15 & 18.
Ess get 15 & 18, give Carlisle and 23.
Coll get 23 and give Freeman.
There may need to be a few extra late swaps to smooth a few edges but the beauty of it is all the clubs give and get what they've previously said they'd be satisfied with.
Thoughts?
Umm...more like Stk get what they want + an absolute unnecessary early 2nd rd pick, Hawks get kissed on the dick for doing nothing & Ess get two late first rounders in a shallow draft!!

As a minimum we'd keep #23

Dragon's got a bit of work to do.

I've read a large portion of this thread and I feel pretty safe in saying that nobody here has the foggiest.
What's certain though is that we will get pick 5.

Pick 5. We'll get pick 5. We have to get pick 5. Pick 5.

Pick 5.

Pick 5.

Pick 5.

Oh Jesus if we don't get pick 5 I my brain might implode.

Hawthorn currently have the best offer on the table, so I don't think it can be ruled out, that said If he does go to Hawthorn it will be on the last day.

Can't wait for the JC Hawthorn articles to come latter in the week, the foam will be flowing from the saints thread.

Swans are apparently involved now according to the age, because this deal is insane.

The general idea is the swans would give the saints 14, the saints would give us 5, we'd get carlisle and the swans would get picks from both of us (saints give 24, we're looking to give a late 2nd/early 3rd) to give them extra points for their academy shizz. The problem is, our pick 44 ain't gonna do the job since it doesn't give the swans extra points.

Thus:
Pick 14 = 1,161 points.
Pick 24 = 785 points.
C = something we need to give up.

Pick 14 is less than pick 24 + c

1,161 <= 785 + c

1,161 - 785 <= c

376 <= c

C => 376

378 = pick 43

C => pick 43

pick 43 gives swans a 2 point increase
pick 42 gives swans a 19 point increase
pick 41 gives swans a 36 point increase
pick 40 gives swans a 53 point increase
pick 39 gives swans a 70 point increase
pick 38 gives swans an 89 point increase
pick 37 gives swans a 107 point increase

So in order to satisfy the deal, we'd need to upgrade our pick 44 (somehow) to something around 37-40.

Thus:

110 = the percent of which I am committed to avoiding the crippling number of assignments I have due this week.

Why do they think any of this is easier?

Also I am now insane.

Sydney getting involved? Not there yet, but something to work on?

Sydney's first-round pick has become the latest bargaining chip in negotiations between Essendon and St Kilda over Jake Carlisle.

The Swans would be prepared to help the deadlock if it would allow the club to turn their No. 14 pick (worth 1161 points on the draft value index) into multiple selections, or extra draft points.

The three clubs have begun exploring a trade that in essence would see Sydney switch pick 14 for St Kilda's pick 24 and another selection or two. The Saints would then send pick five to Essendon for Carlisle.

The problem is that Essendon's third round pick is not sufficient compensation for the Swans, with Sydney only willing to move pick 14 if it receives an adequate number of points.

We give something up. So the saints get the benefit? **** that and **** them.
