Having a great chuckle reading team forums, a lot of clubs want Buckets.

pick 5 would be a very tasty carrot to dangle in front of the bombers
It's not very often I get mad, but the arrogance of pick five being a "very tasty carrot" actually makes me angry.

Why do people overrate draft picks so much?

He strikes me as the kind of guy that knows how good he is, but is really uncomfortable and insecure with attention put on him.

Up forward he can't really avoid being the focal point (quite literally), so when he's struggling his mindset goes to shit; when he's dominating you can see he almost feels embarrassed because he knows that everybody's going to be talking about him.

Still needs a few sessions with Carey doesn't he?

He is going to have to find the appropriate head space to ensure that he does take those shots though.

I could have killed Chapman in the third when he was running past asking for a cheapie with Carlisle 25m out directly in front.

Agreed but Motlop is what we gave up...can't win them all..In Hindsight everyone would choose Motlop..

No he's not. Unless there is something I've missed, there is nothing to suggest we would have taken Motlop. It could have been someone better but more likely at that range it could have been someone worse or a complete miss.

Motlop wouldn't have survived on this board - It took him 4 years before his ability came out.

Is anyone else still reeling? What kind of marking freak have we got on our hands here!? I don't even know the stats... How many contested marks has he taken over the last two weeks?
I'm actually honestly wondering what the deal is... Is this a flash in the pan? Will he settle into a more normal output forward, or have we he hit the freaking jackpot? I don't know...
I'm also feeling a lot better about our premiership window since the start of this season. Zach, Gleeson, Ambrose (maybe) plus the new look forward superstar Carlisle. We have a genuine chance of being a top team even after Jobe, BJ, Fletcher, Licha and Chappy go.

If this form continues for the rest of the season, I feel like we should send maxwell a bunch of flowers for allowing Carlisle to gain confidence and dominate up forward.

If Carlisle averages 8 goals a game for the rest of the season, I'll make it my life's goal to see that Miranda Kerr licks your balls for you.

More realistically, 3 goals a game would be more than satisfactory.

Whether it is down back or playing forward.. you don't trade players with the skill set and ability that Carlisle has shown.

A proven KPP that is still yet to hit his peak.. worth far more than ANY pick imho.. even #1.. who could turn out to be a dud or just average (see Watts/Kruezer)

Grundy will be an interesting case for Carlisle. Grundy is a quality defender, but once his opponent gets on top, he's usually done for the day. Expect Swans to switch Reid back if Carlilse dominates. The biggest issue is how we structure with no JD or T-Bell. Selection will be interesting.
