In the middle of an extremely average AFL website release (http://www.afl.com.au/video/2014-07-30/the-grill-players-make-some-tough-calls) is a moment of pure Buckets brilliance. Long procession of players stating their preference for liberal or labor, interrupted by Carlisle saying he doesn't know the difference. Carry on you majestic *******.

I hope you continue to give as many media releases as possible.

I'm really not that sold on Jackson.. sure he may end up playing a fair chunk of games.. but will he be that player that somehow commanded a big salary at another club? or had as much impact? I can't see it. Zach looks set to be a star though.
I think Jackson might end up like a Chris Heffernan or Justin Blumfield type role player. Fairly good in a good team but not so good in a poor team.

When he flies under the radar he goes ok. But doesn't seem to have that ball winning ability or presence that can take him to the next step.

Apologies for going all serious but....

I'm looking forward to seeing how WADA goes against one of the best team defences in the comp. He has proven he can take a great pack mark but Sydney will look to prevent his run at the ball, scrag a lot more since they're allowed to etc. If he has 8 grabs and 3 goals I'd say he's had a very good game. If he doesn't do much he'll hardly be the only key forward to be stifled by the Sydney defence.

I'd say a 2/3 goal return will be more then satisfactory. He actually matches up quite well against the Swans defenders. Has kicked 4 goals against them in the last 2 games, having only played 3 quarters in the forward line.

Call a spade a spade.. Buckets was poor tonight.. against a top opponent with shit delivery and zero help from the umpires..

Hopefully he bounces back next week.. but Hurley looked alright down forward late.. and across HB and HF.. in one of his best games for the club.

Tonight reminded me of Carlisles season.. really struggles to play deep forward.. needs to play that High HF role.. it seemed the inclusion of Belly just upset the balance and forced Jake back to the 'scrag' style.. which doesn't work for him.

We will need Carlisle firing for the run home.. so hope he gets some better delivery next week.. oh and play him further out from goal.

Zaharakis cleared to play
August 5, 2014 2:21 PM

BTV: Recovery Room - August 5, 2014Doctor Bruce Reid discusses the current state of the injury list during the week leading up to the Friday night game against the Tigers.

Essendon midfielder David Zaharakis has been cleared of serious damage to his knee and will line up against Richmond at the MCG on Friday night.

Zaharakis hobbled from the field after he looked to hurt his knee in the closing stages of Saturday night’s loss to Sydney.

Scans revealed no damage to the knee with the midfielder showing no signs of concern during Tuesday morning’s main training session.

“David went down with a fair bit of pain as he knocked his knee as he went down but he is fine,” club doctor Bruce Reid said.

“In fact he will train today and we would be very surprised if he doesn’t get through today and will be clear to play.”

Jake Carlisle has also been cleared of any damage after he had scans on his hip on Monday afternoon.
