I got the impression he was more criticising the Medical staff than Carlisle.
Came across to me as he wants the players to be honest about whether they can play or not and not be saying yes when they're underdone like what happened with Joe when he came back early and had a stinker.

Carlisle is a player not a doctor, so he was probably just repeating what the medical staff have told him.

I got the impression that the medical department is playing safe with a few players and its frustrating bomber.
He said he had never heard of a 1 week hammy so he wants to know if carlisle would have been ok to play this week. He wants a settled side.

Bomber has been bitten badly by players who said they were fit for finals- Stokes 2008, completely useless and obviously injured but said he was right to go in the GF, and Bomber was loyal to him due to 07 etc.
If Carlisle truly has a hammy, if would be a massive risk to play him v NM. It could turn into one of those recurring curses over his career, but we can only hope it's a back related hamstring pain.He is one of those players we all love watching.

I'd forgotten about that. It'll be interesting to see the attitude towards players in similar situations once Hird comes back in, given he himself did the exact same thing as Stokes in 2001.

I served an Essendon member at work today and he was adamant that Carlise and Bomber have had a falling out and he was on his way out of the club. Says he knew Carlise.

.... I threatened to not serve him. He better not be right.
