Cats had no half forward line. Who is their CHF? Certainly wasn't Mooney or Podsiadly judging by tonight. Johnson was the only one putting in an effort at half forward and even he wasn't very good.

There were some very unusual positional setups for Geelong tonight.
I would not expect to see the same should the sides meet again in a final.

Ablett is a gun, as is Chappy.

Bartel is a bit of a squib, and Selwood can't get the ball unless the umps help him. Corey is well past it.

Ok group, but nothing special.

Bartel a squib?
Were you dropped on your head as a child? Crack mum perhaps?

This bloke is tougher than any pies player of the past 20 years. And has the flags to prove it.

What was that melee all about at 3QTR(?) time? Selwood looked pisssssed.

I think the Pies might have been getting into Selwood because they bought the propaganda of him ducking. I reckon that's what Wellingham might have been saying to the umpire. It looked to me like he was saying to the umpire the Selwood raises his arm up to make the tackles slip high.

Of course I could be completely off target with the above?????????????

So does the Collingwood victory overshadow yet another insipid performance in a big game from Leon Davis? For our sake I hope he is still in the side come September, won't even have to bother manning him up..

disagree with this, collingwood did seem to dominate most of the general play but a lot of there kicks for goal were under pressure, or from tight angles. whereas a lot of geelong kicks for goal came from marks in front of the goals from kicks over the defenders head.
Most of the posters were goals that we usually kick in our sleep. We are a team that tend love the snap shots, but can't kick from set shots if our lives depended on it.

Collingwood were a man down for 90% of the match (Reid) and had the ball inside 50 twice as often as the Cats. 37 scoring shots to 25. That's a pretty dominant display. Geelong's efficiency going forward kept them in the game.

The Cats did have a few sore looking bodies though. 3 years of the being the hunted has to eventually take its toll. Still a major threat come finals time, no-one would doubt that.

P.S. Varcoe is the Cats wildcard imo. He's a star.
