Yikes - I did nothing of the sort - I went out of my way to acknowledge that wasn't my intention - it was just an observation that despite having only played a handful of games, Darcy is the only legit ruck on offer, due to the fact that the vast majority of ruckman don't start to show their true talents until later in their career.

Seriously, don't be so defensive - pretty sure I've watched every game Darcy has played at AFL level, I'm well aware of his talent.
It's there for everyone to see - by suggesting we wait another 7 years the implication is Darcy is just the only ruck under 22 playing and therefore not worthy. Fairly transparent, but I'd expect nothing less from someone with a list such as West Coasts. Sheed, really?

Um yeah...ok...you've clearly got an axe to grind. Have a great day.

Burton - Lever - Hunt
McGrath - Andrews - Mills
Merrett - Darcy - Heeney
Curnow - Hipwood - Billings
Fantasia - Wright - Papley

F: Petracca - Kelly - Cripps
I/C: McDonald - Bontempelli - Crouch - Moore

Based on this year, not a 'best players under 22' but more so an All Australian with a ceiling of age 22.

Went overseas for the majority of the season so you know.

Not a slight on Sean Darcy who is a real talent but this really does go to show that with a couple of exceptions, we need to wait until 25-26 to get a real look of how good Ruckmen will be.
That and the KPF seem to be the main things; any of these lineups would be a pretty amazing team if you could throw in say a Mumford and Kennedy to round it off.

His competition isn't exactly fierce - Archie Smith (6 games) and Ivan Soldo (7 games). I mean, not sure why I'd even bother to reply considering you've ignored the Eagles guy 3 times and continued to sook but yeah, Darcy has been impressive but the facts are he's not beating the ******* cup field is he...

I'm pretty sure most reader wouldn't interpret Black JuJu's comments that way, you're falsely representing his position.

You're doing a really good job of making yourself look like a bitter idiot here. I think you need to read posts and not go to a default assumption that every post with Sean Darcy's name in it is bagging him. How you've reached this based off what was actually posted is mind boggling

No Oliver? You mustn't have watched much footy this year then.

IMO there's two slightly different sides in there depending whether you're picking the best players in each position or whether you're picking the best team. For instance If you're picking the best team then I think you've got to have Wright in there in the forward line or on the bench. None of the other options in that forward line are really going to lend themselves to being the part time ruckman in an AFL game. If you're picking the best players then maybe you don't have him there perhaps.

FB: Burton Barrass McGrath
HB: Lever Andrews Hunt
C: Heeney Oliver Merrett
HF: Papley Curnow Billings
FF: Rioli Hipwood Fantasia
Foll: Darcy Crouch Kelly
Int: Blakely Petracca Bont Wright

Tried to pick a team with actual positions and rolls.

I left out Mills and Sicily from the backs because I prefer to get the balance right. Barrass and Andrews have actually played FB and CHB this year. McGrath as the lock down small, Blakely as the extra midfielder, Lever edges out Sicily as the 3rd tall interceptor, Burton as the kicker and Hunt for pure pace - both to attack and to cover off defensively.

Heeney and Merrett can actually play on the wings, as can Billings and Kelly. Rioli provides some grunt to the forward line. Wright can ruck, Hipwood can get up the ground and Curnow can go in to the middle.

Matt Crouch has been too consistent to not get a starting midfield spot.

Wines, McLean and Zak Jones all stiff to miss but you can't leave out Petracca and Bont even if they haven't had the seasons of those other 3.
