Lance Franklin
Lance Franklin is a giant of the game. The star Sydney Swans forward has played 300 AFL games, won two premierships with Hawthorn, is the seventh-greatest goal-kicker in VFL/AFL history, is one of just five men with eight All Australian blazers and is the most recent player to have kicked 100 goals in a season. The Western Australian is also one of just two players in the game’s history, along with former Swan and Saint Tony Lockett, to have booted 300 goals for two clubs. Franklin was added to a leadership group for the first time in his career ahead of season 2020, joining co-captains Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe, as well as Callum Mills. But the 33-year-old, who was named captain of the 2018 All Australian team, has long been considered an exceptional unofficial leader, so great is his impact on Will Hayward, Nick Blakey, Ben Ronke and the rest of Sydney’s young forwards.

Lance Franklin
DOB: 30 January 1987

Love that the Swans bought Buddy back for the last round at the SCG in 2019 to play infant of a bumper crowd - not a week earlier to play in melbourne.
Love that Buddy will play at the SCG round 2 this year. Not in Brissy rd 1, not at the MCG round 3, but at the SCG infront of the Swans fans.
After what the AFL did to the Swans (loss of COLA) due to the Buddy trade, I reckon the AFL and melbourne can go and get f***ed

Welcome back Buddy.. hoping you and McDonald kick 10

3 goals in his first game back, 20 games to go for the year at least.

If he can stay healthy he needs to average 2.7 goals a game to get to 1000 this H&A season.

665 days since Lance Franklin last played in an AFL loss.
The concept of time:
Logan was 3 years old when Lance first played AFL
Lance is the father of two children

The ******* love that last tweet

Would be awesome for buddy to get to the mark this year , power past it next year
Let's say he plays another 15 games. I reckon he can average 2.2 per game and get to somewhere just north of 980, maybe pushing 990.

Don't reckon there's much chance of him getting there this year, but should sail past by mid 2022.

(Please just let him stay fit)

It’s purely about fitness. If he plays he will get the goals

One of the best parts about last night is that we weren't over the top with ferrying the ball to Bud. During the 2nd quarter, Mills had the ball right on the boundary about 55m out (right in front of where I was) and Bud was screaming for the ball deep in the pocket - but Mills didn't even look in his direction once and picked a much more dangerous option of Reid 20m out right in front where he took a great contested mark on Wright. Great choice by Mills, great mark by Reid and hopefully emblematic of a forward line that doesn't flow through Bud exclusively.

He will kick his 1000th in the grand final calling it now ;)

.. and in the glorious celebration of the stellar Premiership. the Club and Bud will announce a one year extension on his contract. For reasons that will mystify everyone, it will be called the " Tedeski extension ".

This is sad reading - Lance goes to breakfast at 5:30 because of paparazzi (oh and putting out the rubbish bin)
...
He moved to Sydney thinking that would be a good chance to get away from the Melbourne bubble and you can see why there’s that attraction,” Lewis added.

“But when he initially went up there he had paparazzi following him, which we don’t get down here.

“When he left his home to go to training he would have cars following him and once the traffic started to build up and the cars couldn’t follow him he would have motorbikes following him.
“He would then go to breakfast at 5:30am in the morning and go to the beach early in the morning to just have some time away from that type of stuff and just have a bit of normality.
“Over time that then becomes the way of life, so you don’t necessarily go to pubs, you don’t go out for dinner, you do everything off the grid so to speak.
