Lance Franklin
Lance Franklin is a giant of the game. The star Sydney Swans forward has played 300 AFL games, won two premierships with Hawthorn, is the seventh-greatest goal-kicker in VFL/AFL history, is one of just five men with eight All Australian blazers and is the most recent player to have kicked 100 goals in a season. The Western Australian is also one of just two players in the game’s history, along with former Swan and Saint Tony Lockett, to have booted 300 goals for two clubs. Franklin was added to a leadership group for the first time in his career ahead of season 2020, joining co-captains Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe, as well as Callum Mills. But the 33-year-old, who was named captain of the 2018 All Australian team, has long been considered an exceptional unofficial leader, so great is his impact on Will Hayward, Nick Blakey, Ben Ronke and the rest of Sydney’s young forwards.

Lance Franklin
DOB: 30 January 1987
DEBUT: 2005

He's a dead set champion mate, I have no problems with the Bud, he gave us everything at Hawthorn.

I hope he has delivered for you guys too. 1000 puts him right up there with the greats and his ability to run around like a rover makes him super special.
Love watching him, except when you beat us. Ha ha.

Read Mick Malthouses take on players being given long contracts for big money, I don't agree with him when he mentions Buddy and the cost of him and Sydney not winning a flag with him. Well they've played in two, so not a bad effort, but also one man doesn't ever ever ever win a grand final, and Mick writing his column seemed to suggest the total reason for getting buddy was to win a flag.

Well that idea would have surely come across the minds of the Swans hierarchy, but really anyone who believes that puts all his chances in one basket.

I'd say right now Lance Franklin has fulfilled every obligation and that'd be stressful too, but I reckon you Swanees will get four more good years out of this bloke. Good luck.

Yep. The idea was to recruit someone who could make us good enough to win a flag. Franklin did that and the fact that we didn't capitalise isnt at all relevant. In fact, only a moron would reduce it to a binary.

Either injured or could be showing his age

Imo I don’t think he is capable of carrying the team like Keenedy anymore

Both look to have slightly dropped of but expected with there age

There are some signs there but he is still having a pretty good year, pre injury he was really up and about, think when the mids are down so much he is always going to look worse

We seen what bud can do when hes got a sniff at the coleman last year

Yep love when he struts around like he owns the ground

(Though hated it when he was a hawk)

Seems to be very passionate about the club

Shows it in his emotions

Spewing we couldn’t get to see it in a gf

I want to win a flag for buddy more than I do for anyone else on our list

Yes I know he's already got a couple

I'd love to know unequivocally how many games he has won us off his own boot. Would be equal parts impressive and disheartening!
... but so exciting  for us
