This guy will win us a final one day, I was worried he'd go for a massive offer uncontracted next year. glad he's already put my worries to rest..

Great news. I'd thought he was looking elsewhere this trade period and only stayed because we wouldn't trade him. Guys who can hoof it like him are worth their weight in gold, I bet our forwards can't wait for him and Merrett jnr to start hitting them up on the lead.

I look forward to him bombing it over the forwards' heads for goals

A few have pointed to Myers linking up and his raking left foot. However, the best is yet to be seen. Huge frame which will allow him to remain fairly lean AND weigh as much as anyone else, apart from the ruckman, at any stoppage. As Jobe's powers begin to wane in a year or two Myers will take up the slack in there. Just needs more time to be more confident with the ball in his hands among the heat that is an AFL stoppage.

While there is little chance that he, like everyone else, will reach Watson's almost matrix ability to find time and space at the stoppage he will stand up well in tackles and get the ball off. His body is starting to get used to the weight he's put on since being drafted and his run and kicking will add another string to the midfield. If he can develop his overhead marking then he'll be able to push forward and become the complete midfielder.

Heppell, Zaharakis, Myers and O'Brien will have an awesome ring to it in 3 or 4 years!!

Especially since he could of been a RFA at the end of next year (I think)
Ive been a bit of a hater, but he did show some very good signs this year. Hope he can step up into a top 5 midfielder for us in 2014.

(before you ask: BJ, Watson, Heppel, Howlett, Melksham)

There was interest and it was considered.. a two year deal is probably good for both sides.. he gets a chance to cement his pot/command the big $$ and we probably get 1 'extra' year at a lower pay rate if he goes crazy next season..

Will be interesting to see how he fits in next year as I struggle to fit him into my best 22.. although I know he is in plenty of others...
