He's been fairly ordinary tbh. But I wouldn't expect much more...so I am not knocking him as it takes time to get up to AFL speed


My point is more on Sellars which I thought was a little harsh, at the time. I believe when he played was Geelong in Geelong which isn't an easy game. We just give a guy one game at perhaps one of the most difficult games to play in and throw him in the bin....it’s kind of pointless not to be given 2-3 at least.

Yes, he has been average, but he has clearly improved as he has improved his fitness and confidence. His last two months were a massive leap from where he started. If he keeps improving, he could become a handy player. I think it's worth persisting with Geordie for another year. Especially considering some of the players he is up against for a list spot have been kept on the list for years with no signs of improvement: Phillips, Harvey, etc.

Harvey and Phillips are far better/more talented players than Geordie

Harvey has had two years less than Phillips and does seem to be improving as he gets AFL games in terms of defensive work which was the big knock on him.

I'd give him another year and a strict set of KPIs he has to meet to get another contract.

I wouldn't delist Payne and definitely not Harvey. I'd be very surprised if Harvey does and a bit surprised if Payne is...if Payne is it's another one of those give the kid a few games to see and delist if he isn't Sheezel in his first few games.

Some players show a lot in VFL and don't get the 2nd and 3rd chances high draft picks get while performing ordinary at AFL and not much different in VFL. I know its a player stuck between level kind of thing (too good for VFL but not good enough for AFL) but some are neither yet get games.

I know there's also more to it to being a AFL professional player than just out on the field but it baffles I think everyone the chances some players get over others.

Didn't do enough in the second game. Don't like it though. Moved quicker, showed more endeavour to tackle at AFL level, and averaged only 0.4 goals less than Harvey in the VFL.

Fascination with the 181cm key forward continues. Yeuch

I have a pretty strong feeling that he'll make it as an AFL player, probably for Tassie in '27. No doubt his lack of professionalism in preseason last year is the main reason he's not getting a proper crack at it.

Unluckiest of the delistees. I think he showed a heap of promise and improvement this year was rapid. RHJ very lucky to get his extension when he did mid year.
