Easier to just say you don't understand what I mean by that, instead of a well thought out...............................lol

A full and fair response to you is - "would take a few wines down and all the reasons I laughed might take a few more in the telling"

I seem to remember you went all medieval and judgemental on C Curnow - before we drafted him because of his drive escapade..- remember?

anyway ( no offense intended) but sometimes I just crack up - when I see glaring inconsistencies or changes of mind...or maybe just so much " devils advocate' palaver I can handle without laughing..

Truth be told though - I often cringe after reading my own posts - the next day...
Sober Much ?

lol

As no doubt you will this one tomorrow. :)

I didn't go judgemental on Curnow but did on the situation. Which situation?
The one where we condone what could be grave mistakes with throw away lines like "we were all young once"

Anyway enjoy your wine....... But don't take the wheel. :)

Except if it's on the way back from the fridge...they go great together

An essential part of a well rounded personality - is an ability to laugh at oneself - more than others...
Maybe I should start a thread- proof why I am seriously flawed as far as this or that or the other thing goes...:)

Yeah drink driving - haven't run that gauntlet for many many years...but did it regularly when I was a youngster so yea" we were all young once" is a truism for many - would have been over the limit pretty much four times a week - driving home from football training or a weekend night out - no worries/too easy/no problem ...as they say today ..times are changing though - I reckon there is far less silly behaviour on road going on these days..as far as alcohol goes.

One boofhead decision I can forgive....but I'd hope it wasn't an example of an ingrained trend...

I've just gone and watched all his media and interviews from the past week.

I have a theory that he's really a 48 year old that swallowed an anti-ageing potion 30 years ago.

I think it's a strong one. I don't think I've seen an 18 year old footballer so mature, intelligent and well spoken. I swear he's had years of media training already.

Heck, I'm old enough to be his father and I'm an immature dick compared to him.

Apparently can play a bit too :thumbsu:

Many on this board are hoping he will play Round 1 against Richmond (there is the odd exception).
I'd be happy for him to play all 22 if he's up to it. I was only really saying it tongue in cheek. IF he was only to play one game all year, I'd like it to be against the new team of the guy whose jumper number he's taking (would be good if they matched up a couple times too, but they are probably more likely to be at opposite ends).

I think JW is the perfect no. pick. He clearly isn't going to coast along on his god given talent, and I assume he has plenty of that. So chances are he will be an excellent player (touch wood on injuries). I liken him to No.1 pick Nick Riewoldt. Hard working, committed, hard running tall.

What is really bad for club culture is the best player or highest player being a poor role model. This guy is going to be a great example of however much talent you have, you still work your ass off!

I doubt he will be alienated in the macho club world if he goes out and whoops ass on the field. nothing gets respect in a macho world like handing out a floggin!

Any word on how he has fitted in to the club and with the players? I seen someone said he has a bit of attitude about him and a few people within the club aren't getting along with him, I don't know who said it or where on fb it was mentioned. I could see how he mightn't fit in with certain types as he seems a pretty serious type of guy and team mates might see that as up tight. Either way he will be a gun

Jacob is a local kid from my town and I'm friends with some of his teammates. He is very humble and sincere, not outspoken whatsoever. Given his 'always positive' demeanor, what you've described is very uncharacteristic and sounds completely fabricated tbh.

Yeh that's good I didn't think itd have any truth to it. He does appear to handle himself and carry himself very well. Quality guy on and off the field then.

A rumour was started on the main board by a known stirrer, turned out to complete rubbish

JW named as one of the 12 eye-catching players from week two of NAB Challenge :thumbsu:

Had 9 marks (6 intercepts) and 19 possessions and it was noted he used the ball better than most blues.

Hard to believe he was an 18 year old in his first match against AFL opposition. Even Alistair Lynch conceded he could not remember a better debut game by a top ranked draft pick.

Alistair Lynch would struggle to remember where he parked his car, let alone practice match debuts.
