I will reserve my anger for when the trade is made. Anything less than a top 15 pick would mean we lose in this deal. Not sure if Collingwood has anything decent to trade as they have a team full of 175cm midgets (all superstars just ask any Collingwood supporter).
Haven't bought my membership for next year yet but if we get screwed I'm gonna go all Richmond like and microwave my membership once I receive it.

I'm still a bit unclear, but what happens if we decline the trade from Collingwood? Does Levi walk to the PSD? And where does that leave us in regards to compensation etc?
If he walks to the PSD we get nothing. He puts a price on his head (which will be the contract he has negotiated with Collingwood). There is no trading of PSD picks so it will go Saints - Melb - GWS - Bris - Dogs - Blues - GC - Collingwood. If anyone's prepared to match Collingwood's offer and select him he has to go there.

Mate our first rounders are shocking.

Agree with you 100%.

Not talking about that.

Just think its crazy losing Greenwood but bringing in Higgins who is made of glass for 4 years at $400k odd.

Greenwood would have stayed if you' come to the table earlier with a bit more.

Dont be fooled.
Your name Cameron Joyce is it?

So whats stopping us doing that too. I doubt we would match the Pies completely but surely we could still have a chat with him and put a better offer if we really dont want to lose him. Collingwood have been trying to do that with Beams since he said he wanted a trade. If we wanted to keep him I would have thought we could just up our offer and he would stay.
We could, but I don't think we're inclined to match Collingwood's offer. With the departure of Ball, Greenhead is worth more to them than he is to us.

We should certainly entertain whatever offers come our way from other clubs, but they still have to satisfy Levi. If he is adamant about Collingwood then he can knock them back even if they are worth more, but if he goes to the PSD they can just pick him up anyway if they have a pick before Collingwood.

the problem is we final we saw what greenwood offers and there is no denying he was massive in all our wins in the finals, the contract should have been done and dusted by finals time if not few days after.
disappointing thing is it allowed Ziebs and Cunnington to play forward.
Yeah there's definitely no denying that.

Mind you we are yet to see what a fully fit Swallow and Wells have on that.

I suspect Ziebs and Cunners will still see a similar amount of forward time.

Considering how well it worked im sure we will continue to do that.

Its time to start looking at our younger brigade to take this spot. Jacobs should be working his arse off to make this spot his and we have seen how good an inside mid he can be in the VFL and he is only 22.

Quick question guys.. say the Pies say "we'll give you 0 for him", can he still walk out and sign with them because he's out of contract?

Does Nth Melb have any leverage at all? Serious question guys because we've also been in the hunt for him.

He could walk into the PSD. The Dogs offered more $$$ so they would have to pass on him for him to get to the Pies.

I think the hardest thing to replace will be Greenback's intensity and love of the contest.

It's a trait a player either has or hasn't and something which can't be teached.

Fingers crossed on Dumont, but we also have Garner and Turner who absolutely have it in spades.

One door closes, another opens, etc.

Depending on when we de-list him could force him to either the draft or PSD. However, that would be undesirable for us unless Saints were prepared to give us something to force him to slip to the PSD and they were aware of what money he would put on himself.

What's the bet that when he's at Collingwood the media will get his name right every single time. Seeya Patrick.

Would love Freeman to a part of any deal but I think it would be highly unlikely that Collingwood would trade him, I think we would have to add something to Levi to get Freeman.

Finally, I wonder if someone like a Nahas or a Curran is thinking to themselves 'Shit with Levi going it may mean one less delisting, I might have one more opportunity/be able to get my body right next year.' Hopefully a positive can come out of this situation.

He won't go to the national draft because everybody there has to accept the standard draftee's contract.

"It's believed the Magpies have offered Greenwood a four-year deal worth $1.8 million."

Good luck to the man I say. We have the depth to replace him now, and we can develop a new kid.
effin 'ell. From the reserves scrapheap to $450k a year in 12 months. Well done Levi.

I don't begrudge him. Got an offer too good to refuse that should set him up for life.

Quite frankly, he is nowhere near $450k a year. And if we matched the offer, we would have to pay the likes of swallow, ziebell, cunners etc at least 700k+ to stay.

North offered what he is worth. Collingwood paid overs. Good luck to all parties. We move on.

I did have the same thought about Nahas, this has probably bought him a reprieve.

Apparently bulldogs offer was greater so he will end up at the kennel.

Are you sure about that? I thought they could put any price on their heads just like the PSD?
If you look at the form when applying for the draft, there is an option where you can set out how much you want in each year, if it is over the minimum.

He certainly bagged us.

He was talking on behalf of his client he said North offered well unders if they up that by a year and 100-150K per year at the end of the bargaining then l agree with him.

He went at length to not bag the club even said that he has a soft spot for North when being pressed by the undynamic duo he was being set up for a free hit & did not swing. he still said North have to do what is best for North l think they have done well in managing there list. I thought he spoke well knowing he was always going to defend his position.

Happy to disagree GK l imagine it would depend on where you see Levi's decision as to how you take the interview.

What l do know is that Levi allowed others to play forward by performing so well in the midfield & will be missed but can be replaced. Our most improved player over one season for along time deserved more than offered had they been more reasonable in the first offer he would have signed that was his message. I just like the organic grown players to be rewarded. We move on hoping to get a good pick in exchange now.
