You're paying him 400k a year for the next four years, and he'll slot seamlessly into your midfield rotation and give you immediate production of roughly 20-25 touches a game and intense physical pressure around the football. He's harder than a cat's head and refuses to take a backwards step.

He's worth a pick between 10 and 20.
Most of their posters are all right, but some (a sizable percentage) of collingwood's posters believe he's a slow plodder with no skills.

Im still fingers crossed for Goddard :)
I mean current players, i doubt B.Goddard is going anywhere. What im trying to get at is, if Levi is only worth pick 25-35 imagine the superstar we'd land with pick 15 - although we'd probably have to find the 600k/y to pay them.

With the Bullies and Tigers in the wings yes we do.

Easy to go to Levi with the Pies only view you at pick 35, im sure you understand we cant accept that, time to consider the other options.
Interested in this, as i understand the nomination only means that his preferred club would be Collingwood, it doesn't cause any limitations to our options?

From the Pies board, a few seem to think they have us over a barrel now and it's "what we decide, or piss off", hence the ridiculous low-balling going on.

From all accounts Levi isn't interested in ******* over the club, just interested in the added money and security of the Collingwood offer (as he has a right to be interested in) and the defined position there in the midfield. If they come in swinging with a late 2nd round pick, I would hope that he doesn't force the issue, and leaves the possibility of a change of mind open, such as the Dogs 2 2nd round picks >> Levi and our 3rd round pick

I very much doubt you would be getting a pick that high, From what i've seen of Greenwood I imagine he would have roughly the same trade value as Lumumba. So if Collingwood is prepared to let Lumumba go for for a pick in the high 20's (which seems likely) I wouldn't imagine they would be prepared to give up much more then that for Greenwood. Possibly a pick in the mid 20's and a fringe player?

Throw in a pick with Greenwood and you might also be a chance of getting one of our tall defenders in Brown or Keeffe.

Really, Greenwood and Lumumba the same? We actually want to keep Greenwood while we couldnt find anyone willing to piss on Lumumba if he were on fire let alone have him on the list. They are not even close.....

Opps my bad......Obumba was in black n white. Silly me.

Greenwood is a better player than Harry L and should be worth more trade wise, but it never works out that way. Greenwood should be worth more than Harry trade wise.

To be fair Nth had some interest in Harry and he was 5th and 4th in our last two BnFs also been AA and been much more consistent then Greenwood

You guys will get something like pick 22 and a swap of 3rd rounders

I would be happy to give our 2nd and 3rd picks

Your are both greatly underselling Lumumba, he has his weaknesses and he's not the most likeable guy but he's a quality player, and has been producing that quality for a lot longer then Greenwood has, 3rd in our best and fairest too I believe. Greenwood has had a great year but plenty of players have great years and are unable to follow it up, that has to be taken into account as well.
It will be interesting to see what Lumumba and Greenwood end up getting traded for but I would imagine it would be for pretty similar picks.

I'm not underrating him, but a young, pacey inside midfielder that won two finals off his own contested work, averaging 25 disposals a match at decent effciency, tackling and kicking nearly a goal a match and is starting to reach his peak, beats a HB/Winger although consistent, whose disposal is suspect at times (even your own posters suggested this), has good pace, doesn't tackle much (pressure is good), keeps his feet, but doesn't get nearly as much football or contested football or clearances or inside fifties as Greenwood, you're selling Greenwood short more than anything. You keep arguing the opposite, but no one here would agree with your overall argument.

How much was Collingwood paying Lumumba?

Hi, sorry to interrupt, but sending pick 5 and Greenwood to the Pies may be the only way to get Beams over to us as they want a ready made player. Other than pick 25 what would be a reasonable trade from us? possibly a fringe player? From what I've seen this year he'd be worth around 15-20.

That's what we expect from Greenwood in the 15-20 range, but as you know, dealing with Collingwood is a bitch, l would rather trade with St Kilda. They seem to think 23 will seal the deal, they're frankly dreaming.

We've got a plethora of inside mids. Hence Higgins has more value to us to meet a need. As a RFA extra salary is the price we pay for not having to trade.

Losing Beams and Ball, Greenwood has a lot more value to the Pies than he does to us.
Dude, with restricted FA you gotta pay to get your man. We go with $300K for Higgins and Dogs do the same, then he stays.

But that's beside the point. We have the cap space to match the Pies offer. But we don't value Greenwood to that amount and for that length. We start being held to ransom by players now then we can kiss goodbye to a strategy of keeping a core together at a reasonable cost, ala Geelong.
Yeh very true, didnt look at it that way. If he doesn't fill a huge need then i guess paying overs for him off the back of 1 good season wouldn't be the best option. I'm not an expert on your list but i would rate Cunnington, Ziebell and swallow as players who play similar but are better players.

Yeah sucks to be us..

Wish we were Sydney so we can go and spend 10 mill on whoever the **** we want...

Piss off & drink ya COLA, we're just fine with our Pepsi Max!!
Thanks Champion, really mature response.

i'll see myself out

Yeah our 2nd round pick (25) would be unders so hopefully we can package that with a player and then pass him onto collingwood

No idea, at a guess it would be around the $400k mark, or just under. Hard to know as he signed his last contract after he had recently won AA selection and on the back off two grand final appearances.
Because Collingwood are paying Greenwood a 4 year deal worth like 1.8 mil, that's a bit much for a guy only worth a late 20s/early 30s pick.
