Every year this gets said by scorned fans, and every year the player in question gets where he wants to go.

I would be hoping for me but I reckon if it gets to 2pm Friday and we're rejecting a pick in the early/mid 20s, we're being irresponsible.
Have to agree TD. I'd be hoping for two second rounders as the absolute best we can hope for but we may finish up accepting one. One things for sure is the trade will be done.

Yep, we could do far far worse than Mcstay.

197cm? Could stand to add a few kg to his frame, marking defender who is decent on the rebound and kicks goals.
He played forward at times, watch the games against Melbourne when he kicked 3, absolutely murdered them in the air.

Good mark is an understatement, the kid has close to the best buckets of any u/21 in the competition. Looks like a young Harry Taylor/Jarrad Waite to me.....

But we will, because in the long run it's better to move on, get a decent draft pick and accommodate a player than it is to "make a stand".
Of course it is.

If Collingwood was going to offer us a pick in the 30-40 mark that would just be insulting though and exactly what they're whinging about Brisbane doing to them with regards to the Beams trade.

Would it even be worth investing in a pick close to the third round? Genuine question this is probably the first draft in 10 yrs that has been pretty quiet on media street.

It is what it is but I don't think we'll just cover his role automatically like you infer. He was a real moneyball player this year.
As I said I was struggling to find the positives.

That said I would bloody well hope we can cover a 74 game in 7 years player. The 1.8 million does not equate. But you got the moneyball part right.

I've gone from angry to sad in the course of an afternoon. I watched the last quarter of the Elimination final recently and I remember just loving Greenwood, loving him absolutely will our club to victory.

I feel like he really loves our club. I think I can almost side with some of the people saying Pickering has played a big role in this. I can't work it out, the bloke looked like he loved the group and he experienced the first part of our rise. Not only that he has played a huge role in it.

To see him go sucks. I've decided I'm not going to hate him, because I'll watch those finals again and again and I don't want to have to feel anger towards him.

Good luck Levi, but I truly do believe North is where you belong and somehow I hope you don't achieve anything in comparison to that final you played for us, so that when it's all over, that game will be your highlight.

Bigger man than l, l can't enjoy our victories this year, because levi played a huge part in all of them.

North stuffed this one no doubting it.... They didn't rate greenwood otherwise the contract would have been sealed so I can't see how they will get a lower pick then a second rounder. Fingers crossed they can turn this into a positive bc greenwood was such an important player and some reason why we got to a prelim.

Mate if you can't enjoy them, I honestly can't understand that.

The first final was incredible, we saw a team grow into men and it wasn't just on the back of Greenwood trust me.

For me, having never witnessed a final win live, literally reaching out of pocket to get over there from SA for the semi-final against Geelong, I'll never forget it. It was the greatest experience of my life, breaking down into tears when the siren went.

When I watch them both I still get goosebumps and sometimes teary eyed.

They were incredible moments for our club, don't let one player ruin it for you, cause at the end of the day, he still wore the stripes and played for the club.

Pickering is evil and clearly trying to protect his client by playing the "North could have signed him earlier" card. But it makes me angry that the club missed its chance to lock him away.

As you can say, all we can hope for now is that we find a way to turn this into a win-win. Make it happen Scoopy.

I ebb and flow, just depressed about the whole thing, Cunner's will be new favorite now alongside Loogie.
