I'm not sure why people are bringing up Miles? Does North Melbourne want our first rookie pick for Greenwood? Sure thing!

And you KNOW Levi wants to leave, and how much we have offered him? FFS, you are full of shit.

Mate, opposition supporters are welcome, but expect to get mauled if your posting is moronic.
Certain people do actually know what Levi has been offered, by more than just your club or ours, and your club is currently at the bottom of that list. No one is saying Levi is leaving yet, but the offer he currently have is in no way fair for the year he has had and if your club doesn't do something about it, other clubs will be chasing him hard.

In terms of trades I can only talk from my clubs perspective but he is in no way worth our first round pick, we don't need him (we would like him), and you have sufficient depth to cover for his role if he goes. If he were to go to us, and he has a good relationship with players at our club, North needs to be really careful about getting a fair deal for him because we're probably at the advantage. That said the other clubs could offer something better to North for him so we also need to be careful that we offer something reasonable.

Anyway, we'll see, pointless arguing over it.

North Melbourne is hopeful it can advance contract negotiations with midfielder Levi Greenwood over the weekend and secure the uncontracted Roo as rival clubs circle.

Greenwood, who enjoyed a career-best season in 2014, has attracted interest from Richmond and also been linked to Collingwood since coming out of contract.

Kangaroos football manager Geoff Walsh said the club had been able to satisfy the terms requested by Greenwood and his manager Liam Pickering, but they would continue talks.

"We don't feel we're far away, but we understand the competitive tension in the market while he remains officially uncommitted," Walsh told NAB AFL Trade Radio.

"Hopefully in the next 48-72 hours we get to a stage where we talk with Liam Pickering again, and are we able to come to terms with their requirements and where we feel we can go.

"We will endeavour to keep working on that and hopefully by the time the weekend unfolds we've got a position."

The Kangaroos unveiled free agent recruit Jarrad Waite on Friday in a move that will boost their tall stocks.

The move to secure the former Carlton spearhead has clouded the future of North Melbourne's fringe talls, with Majak Daw, Robbie Tarrant and Aaron Black all battling for opportunities.

Walsh, however, said the club was not looking to move any on, with Tarrant (leg) and Black (shoulder) shaping as new recruits in 2015 after injury-effected seasons.

"We think Robbie will have a good summer – the post-operative diagnosis is good, and we think he's got the versatility to play [forward] or back," he said.

"'Blacky' played under some significant difficulty during the year with a shoulder injury.

"He'll have that repaired and we admired him so much for his willingness to get out there each week.

"Majak is still a developing player … he's still very much a player we will put a lot of time into."

Walsh said contracted half-back Aaron Mullett was a required player, while the club would help facilitate a move for midfielder Liam Anthony if there was interest from rival clubs.

Don't think we'll be seeing a contract announcement tonight...

Why exactly don't you need him?

Richmond fans seem happy to pay the bloke $400k~+ a season, yet think they can and should get him for cheap.

Ridiculous.
Not one richmond supporter has stated we want him cheap, half of us asked what would be a fair trade or stated our opinions on a fair trade. Most of us believe he is worth somewhere between our first and second pick, as do most neutrals.

You guys offer him a crap salary yet rate him as being worth pick 11. and we are the delusional ones :drunk:

And you want to offer him roughly 400k a year and want to trade a mid second rounder.

It works both ways.

48-72 hrs till we speak Levi's management again? Really don't like where this is heading. Have heard nothing from Pickering or Camp Levi that is making me rest easy. Gee there will be a mass of pissed off North fans if we don't get it done, especially now that it's out that we have offered Higgins $400k for 4.

Mainly because with pick 11 we can go to the draft instead. Given Jackson has retired we have a bit of extra coin and Greenwood would be a good replacement, but we're not going to go out of our way to bring in a player at the risk of future performance. Our midfield is young, so we still have a lot of room for improvement there over the next 5 years. Greenwood would be a bonus.

He's North's to lose. We just need to position ourselves in a way that if you do lose him we're the benefactor.

Greenwood would take the heat off Cotchin, whose basically a lone hand on the inside, with a little help from Miles.

Starting to wonder if we are strategically pushing him out and seeing what we get offered. Maybe the club will up the offer if we can't get what we percieve to be full value.
