really really hope TT is right

keeping Levi is vital for the period outside of the "window" that the club seems to be pitching for…. I am very nervous we are loading up for the next two years with a cliff looming

Levi is a potential captain over the following rebuild period
If Toes says it it's bank.

It was only a couple of years ago that a four year deal was nuts. When Sydney gave one to Sam Reid, everyone was amazed. Hawthorn set the tone by offering no-one more than two years, if I remember. Now four years is a standard contract? How did that happen?

It's a product of the expansion teams' introduction closely followed by FA. My how the landscape has changed in favour of the players.

Please explain this cliff theory to me.

As Brad said last night we have used our first 3 picks for the last 8 years, how does this cause a cliff?

Levi definitely wants to stay. He definitely doesn't want to go to another club. He and Pickers have come to an agreement with the club on all aspects of his new contract bar one issue which he's confident will be sorted this weekend.

Take that to the bank as fact! Source shall remain nameless but I can say I feel 100% better about this than I did last night. He wasn't avoiding the subject last night because deep down he knows he's going, but because he's sticking (rightfully) to his guns on one matter and until it's sorted he's been advised to remain coy.
Well mate, I don't know what you heard but I'm stoked by this news. As we discussed last night, the feeling was he would probably go. Glad to hear a positive update.

My son went to B&F last night and chatted with quite a few players. Mullet said no way he wants to go anywhere and thought he would be safe, but a few he spoke to said they thought Levi might go as Woods and Tiges offering heaps more. One said that Levi was flattened by the poor offer from North and their refusal to do better, especially after offering Higgins $400k. Will be interesting to see where this ends up.

I had a brief chat to The Pig last night. I said I hope you are around here for another 5 years. He responded with "I'll be here.....I hope" : perplexed look

He genuinely looked like he had no idea what the **** I was talking about and what all the fuss was.

So what your saying is its OK to pay 400 for Higgins (who IMO is well below Levi) but Levi has to be happy with 300-350?

sounds like a crock to me, Higgins should be paying US to come.....
Unless you know 110% that he is on that coin you can't post this Koshari.... The deal that was mention was a 3 yr deal plus + 1 yr extension (activation).
Doggies were offering 2 yrs

Its just a waiting game now. Only matter of time as twinkletoes mentioned. Rem Geoff Walsh said he expects it to be done very soon
I do hope you guys saying it's close to being resolved are right. Intellectually I'm cool with Levi going if they can't sort it out. But it makes me feel kind of ill to think of him charging through packs wearing a Collingwood jumper.

Hopefully l can bank it, unlike B Tron's player trade involving the letter J.
