I think he has given us so much shape. He knows when to go and when to sit back. Sydney may well end up with regret.
2019 4th round pick for Newman, looks to be a very good trade for us. He's pretty much the player we hoped Ciaran Byrne would be.
Ranked 4th or 5th in the league for metres gained....

Really can't judge this one until we see who the Swans take this year with the 4th rounder.

Not normally a fan of players talking during matches, but loved when he was interviewed his intensity and focus and team first determination. That's when I started to believe a win was going to happen.

Willo breathing down his neck should help lift his game too.
Fitted in well into our team. Provides good backup and run out of defence. His experience, pressure & disposal is very good as well. My only small concern is his tendency to tackle a bit high on occasions. Should have been penalised a number of times against Bulldogs for high tackles. Have to tidy up this component of his game. And that blatant push in back. Just can't afford to give up frees within the 50 m area.

5th for metres gained (our next best is Murphy who is 23rd & Walsh who is just outside the top 50) & equal 4th for rebound 50s.

Club culture starts with those who lead from the front and show composure when there’s pressure all around. Newman has shown more than enough to earn this deal and will help many blokes around him to get this club where it needs to get to. I have a feeling there will come a time in the next couple of years where he’ll be a big part of the turnaround whether he’s in our best 22 or not.

Newman tens to be quite consitent as well,obviously he likes his footy and getting amoungst it !

I was on team Willo for his spot, but Newman was excellent coming back from a knee, will only be better in 2022, best 22 for sure.
