Why was he not best 22 this year?
Don't actually know his circumstances but he played 11 games this year and he was in the Swan's 22 for their elimination final (+20 games in his debut year in 2017 including all of the Swan's finals.) So it's not like he's a nobody who can't crack their 22.

I like him and think at worst he adds depth and helps cover for the loss of Byrne.

Just to play Devi's advocate, does anyone see him actually breaking into our best 22 barring an injury crisis?

Seems like Aaron Mullet all over again. But this time we paid more.

I hope he succeeds for you guys. I also believe he was very unfairly maligned by a lot of Swans fans. In truth though he was one of the best kicks in the Swans team and in 2017 showed a tonne of promise, cementing himself in the best 22 that year.
Not only a stella 2017. But played 8 of your last games in a row including week one of finals and going of stats.... looked to be averaging about 18-19 pos per game. Brilliant byrne replace ment.

Hopefully an Agresta special. I wonder if he will be best 22. Need is there for a quick, skilled and smart attacking half back without doubt.

If people fret over us paying a future 4th for him, then I don't know what else to say. Provides depth at HB and push into the midfield if needed. Seemed like he just had an off year, his 2017 was pretty good from memory. Seems like he can lay a tackle well and cracks in. Played forward down in the NEAFL for a bit as well, so he's been working on his offensive craft which may help as he rebounds off half-back.

Welcome Nic, make the most of it. Looking forward to seeing what he produces in navy blue!
