Reckon he’ll be a bit of a slow burn. Can see him getting caught a lot early days and he handballs a lot putting teammates under pressure. If he can add some balance to his game I think we will have a player because he has great physical attributes.

I think recruiters tend to view physical attributes in isolation, which gets them burnt. E.g. Smiley was a high-pick because he's 6 ft 4 and I guess everyone figured that he'd eventually learn how to use that to take marks or impose himself on the contest.

Conversely Grlj already knows how to use his pace from what I've seen, so it's a lot more impressive than many combine high-scorers. Should be a weapon (but will still take longer to develop than Sharp etc.)

It's a good pick, has the athletic attributes that we need and of the available players left he has the most upside. He looks to be a real confidence player, if that stays steady he could be anything, tidy kick, gets into chain possessions which I like. Hopefully can accumulate more and we have gotten ourselves a real quality player.

I reckon could have picked Grlj in the twenties and if not the teens. For example I would rate Barker higher than Grlj.

Do the recruiters know more?? Maybe but we shall see. I am not wasting my time investing to much about, but I will have a look at the sidelines and we will know more in 4 years or so and I hope I am wrong, but I will not be surprised if Cumming leaves Grjl in his wake
