At one stage thought his old man was going to be Peter Matera mk 2 with his dash and long goals at East Perth. Not sure how much the ACL impacted his pace but certainly understood why we took him so high back in the day.

There you go. I didn't realise Prior was ever a dasher. As I remember him he was a safe half back, pretty good interceptor (by the standards of the 90s) and reasonable at doing a job on an opponent. Also overcame a bit an issue with the phsycial side of the game.

Was torching the wing and sinking long bombs for East Perth. Was at the 92 WAFL prelim and he played very well. Back then guys typically lost athleticism after an ACL though and he had one pretty early with us from memory. Was stoked when we got him and also had Cummings heading over who was kicking bags for the Swans seniors as an 18 yr old.

Jaxon, has likely done enough to get another 1 year deal.
Throw him in a better backline and hopefully we can use his strenghts more. He got exposed early in the year, but less so later in the season, but our defence has been more like swiss cheese and no need to isolate the one weak link, so who knows?

He always had the right tools in the box. Now he is learning how to use the correct ones at the right time. As frustrated as I have been with him at times it has never been to the point of frustration I felt with Kelly. Kelly though was a much more limited player.

something to be said about not getting injured in a team swamped with injuries.

he’s solid, built nicely. i can see him sitting on the bench for a few seasons to come as a rotation

Id be happy with 2 years but perhaps a Ridley trade request could see Jaxon sign 4. Has been good to very good in the second half of the season despite how under manned the team has been
