Tarrant actually clunking a couple was a good sign. His finishes were solid.

People slagging Lachie at the same time obviously don't watch workrate, collisions and repeat leading.
Absolutely correct re Lachie. He was good yesterday without getting the rewards - smashed packs, repeated leading, dummy leads to create space etc. When they did kick it to him it was either at his ankles or over his head - I commented to my mate at the game that he must feel like Richo did at Richmond in the 90's!

Everyone wrote off Petrie at the same age...
I wasn't righting him off, I just don't think he'll be the superstar some people hope / want / think he'll be. Just my opinion on what I think is a realistic output from his career.

FWIW I admit I was disappointed when we took him first round in 2008, or whenever it was, and I always defended Petrie as the "great white hope" in the past when a lot of my Geelong and Sydney mates laughed at him when he was struggling under Laidley.

Tarrants ok and adds value to the team, but I don't think he'll be anything spectacular

Next year will be Tazza's breakout year. He will start ministering defenders once he knows he can.

2 years on and the doubts over his shoulders will be the last thing on his mind.

Last year he was still a bit tentative, this year most of that will disappear. Next year he will take up to the next level. I think Tazz has a very high ceiling, his workrate, tackling, kicking, 2nd efforts and all excellent. Clunk 1-2 extra contested marks a game close to goal and everything will come together for him

Interesting. Everyone happy with Tarrant's 5 mark, 2 goal performance yesterday. No mention of Hansens 6 mark, 2 goal performance last week? If you watch Tazza's first mark, it came partly as a result of Hansen pushing back hard into his opponent and clearing space for Tazza to jump at it. He did this about 4 times in the first quarter alone. Drew was the benificiary of it another time as well.
Agree 110% with this one.

Last week everybody was riding of tarrant saying he has to go, Now its hansen?

You cant surely expect everysingle person that sets foot into the forward 50 to take 5-6 contested marks a game.
Hansen will bounce back

they will be judged collectively. Like last year. 4-6 goal return minimum between the 3 of them!

With Boomer out and Patch not quite up and going yet we aren't getting enough goals from our mids which means more is expected from the likes of Taz and Lachie . What do people think we should expect as a good goal tally per match from our 3 tall forwards ?

Tarrant is possibly worth persisting with as is a lovely kick and just needs to lead more and could become a handy forward target.
Hansen on the other hand just doesn't look a forward at all. Could be a good defender though and would release Scotty Thompson from fullback into a more rebounding role which he thrives on.
Hansen to CHB. Grima to FB and Thompson to just do what he freaking wants in the back half.
Correct.

I have posted on another thread on this one.

Our forward structure is extremely dangerous and other teams struggle to have defenders who can match up on us.

7 goals minimum from our tall forwards.
2-4 from LT
2-4 from Patch/Harper/Boomer combined
5 or so from the other mids pushing forward.

This will give us approx 100 points, which very rarely sees (other) teams get beaten. We were the 2nd most prolific scoring team in 2012. Our problem isn't kicking goals, it's stopping the other mob kicking them!

Rather than dropping one of Tarrant, Petrie or Hansen for Daw, I think we should bring him in for one of the mids that hasn't been contributing, like Jacobs or Harper, and bring in Hine for the other one. Daw to backup Goldstein and drift though the middle. He's not just a key forward, everyone seems to be forgetting that, and the reason the 3 towers work so well is that opposition backlines don't usually have enough talls to cover them, so one of them can run free.

Fully expect to be shot down here and possibly rightly so.

But, given the circumstances surrounding Tarrant at the minute, combined with the AFL positive drug testing numbers from last year and the admission of suspending players who had tested positive.. well I'm sure you all see where I'm going with this.

This is just pure speculation; I have no inside information, rather I'm suggesting the possibility and seeing if others think its plausible.

Are we now getting to the stage where every single player who is out injured longer than originally expected is to be labelled by some as a potential drug user?

If so, I'm out.
