26 AFLW Tigers locked in for '23

Richmond is delighted to confirm twenty-six existing AFLW Tigers are locked in for the 2023 season.

The Club's top five in its Season 7 Best and Fairest; Monique Conti, Eilish Sheerin, Gabby Seymour, Ellie McKenzie and Grace Egan will all be back for next season, in a strong showing of support for the Yellow and Black.

Tiger fans will be ecstatic to see four-time Best and Fairest winner Conti remain in the colours, heading up Richmond's midfield brigade alongside McKenzie and Egan.

Young gun McKenzie, 20, is set for a big 2023 after recapturing her best form in Season 7. The former number 1 draft pick averaged 15 disposals per game last season and made the All-Australian squad for the second time.

Much-loved captain Katie Brennan has also recommitted to the Club for 2023 after leading the Tigers through their recent success in Season 7, which included a top-four finish and inaugural finals campaign.

She'll return for her fifth AFLW season in the Yellow & Black, as will fellow inaugural Tigers Conti, Seymour, Rebecca Miller, Kate Dempsey and Laura McClelland.

Four Tigers, Miller, Seymour, Dempsey and Egan, were also part of the Club's VFL program prior to Richmond's entry into the AFLW.

Sheerin will move into her second AFLW season following a stunning debut season at the level, in which she was named All-Australian and the AFLPA's Best First-Year Player.

Promising youngsters Emelia Yassir and Stella Reid have also signed on, alongside experienced Tigers Sarah Hosking, Jess Hosking, Maddie Shevlin and Libby Graham.

Richmond Head of Women’s Football, Kate Sheahan said it was a terrific outcome for the Club.

"To have such a large number of the group re-sign in this landscape is a testament to what we've built as a program," Sheahan said.

"We're thrilled that we've be able to keep the nucleus of our side together for the 2023 season, everyone that played in our semi-final against North Melbourne in Season 7 will be back again next year.

"And to have retained the talents of star young midfielders Monique, Ellie and Grace, as well as our experienced leader Katie, is very exciting for what we want to achieve in the upcoming season."

The 26 existing Tigers will be joined in Season 8 by exciting recent Sign and Trade recruits Caitlin Greiser, Courtney Jones and Molly Eastman.

Richmond will enter next month's supplementary draft with pick. 32.

Good list , Charlie Ryan is basically a new recruit , after missing last year with a knee , only surprise was keeping Steph Williams , she was a battler at best
