Did he sound upset we took him?Derm gave some good insights on him on sen
Derm gave some good insights on him on sen this arvo.
About how he was a rower, has huge power in his legs. Had sort of lost his running legs, got him a running coach and stripped him back down from 100kg back to 93kg. Described May as a freight train.
Was doing 8 weight sessions a week, 2 runnings sessions to put in the extra work to get himself into the afl.

Not really. Think he’d be happy for the kid getting an opportunity rather than sooking over something trivialDid he sound upset we took him?

Think he’s more competitive in the air than stewartReminds me of James Stewart from his highlights - in terms of build and movement. James Stewart is probsbly a great result from a msd pick if ends up similiar.
Rosa list build approach seems much more strategic. Academy kids the smalls, caddy the athletic aerobic roaming kpf. Pair with a big body physical presence.
Good luck. Another arch.
ewwwDo you reckon he's accidentally walked in on Derm and his mum?
You realise you’re talking about Dermott here right? Not really. Think he’d be happy for the kid getting an opportunity rather than sooking over something trivial
Probably Dermie making her watch his highlightsDo you reckon he's accidentally walked in on Derm and his mum?
He was spewing
...also, he goes for Collingwood. Why would we call him 'Maggie May?' Are we trying to wish him away or something?
Der. It's a break up song.Have you not heard the Rod Stewart song of the same name before?
Maybe Derm sees a bit of himself in Arch. Some of the Essendon hate is media show and jokes. I thought he sounded quite proud. He is able to support his son and the team (or both teams)So Derm said this, "Arch will stand under the ball as brave as can be."
I know kicking it onto our forwards' heads is a cliche around these parts, but this is perfect for us.
The May / Caddy dynamic is going to be so exciting; Caddy between 50 and half way looking for May who is the size of 'a freight train' (Derm). They will effectively be our Hawkins / Cameron.
Weird, a beneficiary of this could be 2MP, but I'm really hoping El Achkar comes on.
I thought so too. Dermott has grown up. His commentary is mature and unbiased mostly I think. I like listening to him. Mostly I get the impression that he just loves football.Maybe Derm sees a bit of himself in Arch. Some of the Essendon hate is media show and jokes. I thought he sounded quite proud. Yep, Derm was absolutely rapt he gets a chance. I think he sees May as being able to restore a bit of hardness to our team.Maybe Derm sees a bit of himself in Arch. I like this. The Draper / Bryan / 2MP puzzle is really interesting.I like the concept of trying to emulate the Geelong setup of big brute (may), roaming athletic type (caddy), small forward like a stengle (kako).
To push it further I'd probably be chasing a flanker that can play high and work back to goal like miers, really creative kicker. Maybe that's merrett in his later years, rotating on ball with Martin/Durham.
Clarke/dursma playing the wings.
Reid hayes your key backs,
You can start to see the bones of that build coming through.
Going back to May, the question is where we fall in our setup when we have Bryan, Draper, 2MP healthy?

We've really taken this 'find the next Sam Durham' thing literally, haven't we?
Anyone got insight into why he wasn't drafted the past couple of years? Not trying to be a downer but isn't it a little strange to be getting so excited about a player that every club didn't want for the past 2 draft years?
