Also confirmed that Collingwood were very interested. So much for mind****ing us like the delusional flogs on their board convinced themselves had happened.
 
Reminds me of James Stewart from his highlights - in terms of build and movement. James Stewart is probsbly a great result from a msd pick if ends up similiar.

Rosa list build approach seems much more strategic. Academy kids the smalls, caddy the athletic aerobic roaming kpf. Pair with a big body physical presence.

Think he’s more competitive in the air than stewart
Said he try’s to model his game of Josh treacy. Which is exactly the type of forward we need.
 
So Derm said this, "Arch will stand under the ball as brave as can be."
I know kicking it onto our forwards' heads is a cliche around these parts, but this is perfect for us.
The May / Caddy dynamic is going to be so exciting; Caddy between 50 and half way looking for May who is the size of 'a freight train' (Derm). They will effectively be our Hawkins / Cameron.
Weird, a beneficiary of this could be 2MP, but I'm really hoping El Achkar comes on.

Maybe Derm sees a bit of himself in Arch. Some of the Essendon hate is media show and jokes. I thought he sounded quite proud. He is able to support his son and the team (or both teams)

I thought so too. Dermott has grown up. His commentary is mature and unbiased mostly I think. I like listening to him. Mostly I get the impression that he just loves football.

Yep, Derm was absolutely rapt he gets a chance. I think he sees May as being able to restore a bit of hardness to our team.

He is exactly the player we need and have needed for a long time. Could be the perfect partner for Caddy. As others have said might be our Hawkins/Cameron type duo.

I like the concept of trying to emulate the Geelong setup of big brute (may), roaming athletic type (caddy), small forward like a stengle (kako).

To push it further I'd probably be chasing a flanker that can play high and work back to goal like miers, really creative kicker. Maybe that's merrett in his later years, rotating on ball with Martin/Durham.
Clarke/dursma playing the wings.
Reid hayes your key backs,

You can start to see the bones of that build coming through.


Going back to May, the question is where we fall in our setup when we have Bryan, Draper, 2MP healthy?

I like this. The Draper / Bryan / 2MP puzzle is really interesting.
2MP in the form he's been hitting could be an amazing third tall chopping out for one of the other two. If Draper goes that becomes an easier decision obviously. If he doesn't and 2MP stays consistent, we have a good problem.
 
Anyone got insight into why he wasn't drafted the past couple of years? Not trying to be a downer but isn't it a little strange to be getting so excited about a player that every club didn't want for the past 2 draft years?

Injury and his size I would guess, sounds like he has dropped weight and done all the right things to get a chance.
