How about actually play 2 other KPP and a ruck next to him so they spread the workload around the ground like they did at his old club

And allow him not to have to ruck which he never had to do at the eagles

Seriously who would you promote? And dont give me that CCJ malarky again. Goad is miles off, maley has good mitts but falls of a cliff after that, other than that playing zane as a psudo tall is probably the only other option however his core strength limits him as a pinch hitter at present.

most teams are playing a second ruck atm

just this weekend hawks had ramsden and meek playing against us along with chol and gunston
freo even went one further and had darcy, jackson and 3kpf in voss, treacy and amiss
suns with Witts, Read, Walter and King
pies with West, Cameron, mihocek and mcstay

could go on and on

we are one of the few that are playing smaller to our detriment and not spreading the workload amongst the kpp

You realise we don't have anyone good enough to play second ruck and KPF right? Maley was barely serviceable.

you only need to look at last year when we had teakle play that role in the second half of the year and it straightened us up

Finnbar was playing fine when he was in and providing an extra marking target

CCJ has come back in good form and should also get a chance this week

If a player is actively bleeding, they have to stop play to allow the replacement player to take up position.

Im 99% that was scrapped years ago. Its only if its in play.

In what world does "the umpire must stop play at the first available opportunity" mean that it's not mandatory to stop play?

Edit: I feel like you might be confusing it with when someone has blood on themselves or clothing but not actively bleeding which play is not needed to be stopped for.

Correct, this is the rule. There are a new set with different references to your screeny, but here's the summary below:

• Active bleeding is defined under 24.1 as the existence of an injury or wound which continues to bleed and is not bleeding that can be readily removed. AKA it requires treatment to stop the bleeding.

• 24.3(i) and (ii) umpire must stop play at first available opportunity and issue a direction to leave the playing surface.

If they issue a direction under those two regulations, then you are entitled to a replacement player (24.3.3) within a certain time. Only when satisfied that they are replaced or if time has expired can they recommence play.

None of this is possible or necessary to be written down if you interpret it as not being required to stop play.

NOTE: this is different to the procedure for bleeding not defined as active bleeding which is in with what DY said.
