Yep both big forwards get the age difference but they were brought in for different purposes. Rocca’s two years before coming to us he had missed about 10 games in each of those seasons. Malthouse wanted to retire him off from memory (patella injury)

Jack is a stop gap to give Larks & co a chop out but also think his experience will be of great benefit for the younger guys

Anyway you know why he was brought in whether you agree with it or not is your call

Zurhaar doesn’t need Darling. The king of Marvel never had Darling before to dominate.

And it looks like an under done Aiden Corr is playing on Darling.

Pinks defenders are a bit of a mess. Its hard to gather information.

Obviously coaching staff know better than me and he apparently helps with structures and all that but Maley looked twice the player as him. I hope what we saw was just him cruising around out there.

Darling isn’t here to change the clubs fortunes, he’s a stop gap. Ideally Maley, W.Dawson, Goad, Whitlock are playing well in the twos and give the coaches something to think about. Im more than happy for Darling to take the heat in the meantime.

I thought he was solid but on one of the North podcasts some fellow slammed his preseason and said he hadn’t done much at all. It was a surprising take as I suspect he is on a managed program to ensure he gets through the season ok.

I liked what I saw.

If the least he is is a senior fit AFL key forward body with presence and leadership I'll take it.

It did change the forward line dynamic just watching the ball movement, Larkey able to play the Waite to Darling's Petrie.
