You put in your best performances when you are getting the arse at years end? Bring in a 40 year old finished player, I wouldn’t give much effort either knowing im on the block and only used if Xerri and CCJ are injured.

In the 15 games he's played for North, Teakle has kicked 10 goals.

Speaking to him the other day he indicated that he spends a lot more time on the bench than he did at WCE (about 75% of the time on the ground at North cf. 95% at WCE) and has ended up rucking more than anticipated, which is the rationale behind the longer bench time. So this adds a bit more context to his output this season.

So a set up where he's not backup ruck sounds like the preferred option for JD (recognising he's perhaps not at the age where his body can handle the big minutes each week)...

I don't disagree with you, he's likely got one year left in him.
But the group needed an example like him in terms of his professionalism and forward craft.
If the young forwards are just learning off Larkey or Teakle, it's useless, they learn nothing because they don't know.

22 8 is still 30 shots at goal, and nigh on equal to his last season with West Coast .... and he had that awesome chase down at the G the other week. He's been better than you give him credit for. If you go back beyond September last year, you'll most probably find even more delusional stuff.

He played 11 games in a row last year, kicked nine goals and didn't do much to help the others score either. So not even one goal a game despite half a season of continuity. Darling was better this year in all facets of the game including his ruck work and the rest of our forward line scored significantly more as well.

I watched games when he was 30m in the clear, on multiple times inside 50 and burned by jy and zurhaar. The fact I can argue Teakle is better in that position is embarrassing for Darling and the club.
